Tesla Cybertruck
I think personally there is no problem or issue with negativity. People are going to be skeptical. The Cyber Truck will either prove to be the greatest truck ever invented, or it will be like the Model S and X, a toy of the wealthy. Some people will be proved right and some wrong. Only time will tell. I really wouldn't let negativity bother me
Someone here mentioned the S and X being sales success. Has the X ever sold over 30k units per year? How many times have the S sold over 40k units per year? If the cybertruck sells 50k units per year consistently over the next 5 years, is that considered successful?
Seems like a low bar for what some consider a sales success.
Tech Crunch has the best writers
They forgot something.
Cybertruck look is dictated largely by materials not "because Elon".
I wonder if that was written by a stupid AI.
The Cybertruck is a steel-clad electric pickup truck made by Tesla.
Also referred to as Cybrtrk in an early trademark, the Cybertruck’s name, neon logo and exterior evoke a sort of cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic aesthetic. Why? Because Musk wants it to.
The electric pickup is made of steel, a tough material that resists rust but is hard to shape.

There is an element of truth in this. The appearance of a green department and the resonance that has with their local constituency and the nationwide notoriety that brings them money is a reason why this PD bought Teslas. For one, I'm sure Tesla or this company that modified them for this PD did so for a "special cost". Also, what sense does it make for the PD to replace all their cruisers? Were all 13 of them so wrong out they were due for replacement?
This PD is in a constituency where Tesla is indeed a virtue signal.
Theres a reason why you only see departments in affluent liberal towns doing this...if it actually was the smartest financial and use solution for a PD you would see small departments in lower SES conservative constituencies also...and you don't. Why? Because the virtue signal doesnt work.
Bit is not a police department that operates on public funds.

Now the Cyber Truck at this point makes no sense to me other than a personal vehicle. I don't envision it anytime soon doing anything other than that
IMO it doesn't have to be the greatest truck ever, just a good overall product which I think many here have agreed that it seems like it is...especially if you disregard how it looks. But because some disagree with how well it will do in sales vs predicted sales, use cases and price point, some people take it personal like it's an attack on them or the product itself.

I agree with whoever said this truck is like the Hummer. It’s big, it’s brash, it’s weird looking, etc. but if I bought one and someone questioned why I would buy a monstrosity like that I would just say, because it’s F’ing cool.
I do think that most people wouldn’t use it as a utility truck and think the stainless steel wasn’t necessary. I do think this will be used like most big trucks today I see in the suburbs, for hauling people around for people with like excess and have money.

Holy ****, some people seem to be having trouble breathing with how deeply Elon's buried himself in their throat.
It's so weird to take criticism of a man or his company so personally. Feels like high schoolers hyping **** up.

That said, I don’t even know if I’d want to be a billionaire honestly.
I wouldn't know, but I'm guessing it has it's perks, like waking up one morning, buying one of the biggest social media platforms, then telling the advertisers to **** off. That's gotta feel good 🤣
