Agreed. I'm ready for an EV luxury car and even though the EQS looks better in person it's not instant love like the S-class. The next-gen 7-series looks like it will have something "avantgarde" going on with the front end and Audi's EV flagship is years away.

No obvious choice in the luxury realm just yet.

Agree, I would buy an EV luxury sedan at this point, but that one’s not the one

Pinnacle. By that they mean the car looks like the ideally shaped bar of soap.

Bet you didn't know that your bar of soap was super aerodynamic.

This dude is the biggest Mercedes fan on the internet and even he isn't too keen on the looks:

He also mentions that the front seating position forces you to be really high-up like a CUV, and the back isn't as spacious as an S-Class, which is really odd considering the cab-forward design and identical wheelbase. The drivetrain is excellent, but of course you expect that from an EV with S-Class levels of sound deadening.

He called it a "Prius +" lol. It's the new standard! 👍👍

not really... the 6" thick slab of batteries impacts seating. almost all ev's i've seen reviews of show back seating have high floors causing peoples' knees to be up high (not comfortable for long rides!).

It was the high position of the dash that made him feel like a CUV, not the height of the floor. He had to pull the seat to its highest position just to get some decent front visibility.

It's obvious that the hood is way too high up though. The Prius+ design actually backfired in usability.

That two-tone paint makes it look more like a Maybach than a regular Mercedes.

Forward visibility looks extremely poor.

With rooflines like that, visibility in any direction is going to be second-rate, except for camera-scans.

True but look at how high the bottom of the windshield is compared to the rest of the glass.

The EQS pricing was just announced for Canada ( it's $144K CAD) . What surprised me is that for this price, none of the following options (I'm referring to ONLY the premium package below) are standard. You have to pony up an extra $7k CAD.

The $7,000 premium package adds
  1. heads-up display,
  2. automatic climate control,
  3. multicontour front seats with massage,
  4. air balance package,
  5. seat heating plus,
  6. climate comfort front seats and
  7. 10-degree rear axle steering.
Is that usual for MB to charge extra for automatic climate control??

The Sport Package ($4,500)
  1. includes AMG Line exterior,
  2. AMG styling,
  3. 21-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels with black accents and the star panel.

The $5,000 Night Package transforms the Sport Package components with black cladding.

And the Executive Rear Seating Package ($7,000) pampers
  1. the rear passengers with climate comfort rear seats,
  2. rear seat package plus,
  3. rear seat entertainment plus,
  4. electrically adjustable rear seats,
  5. luxury rear head restraints,
  6. comfort rear armrests,
  7. side rear air bags,
  8. rear multicontour seats,
  9. enhanced heated rear seats, and
  10. neck warmers
