Savagegeese review of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Not sure why they refer to it as a "Turbo"....

Turbo switch did increase CPU frequency. With Porsche the turbo moniker means exactly nothing except "tradition" I guess.

trivia: there were at most 3 cuts of case keys that's it. Turbo display had no idea if the CPU actually clocked up.

With modern Porsches, "turbo" is used to highlight their top performance-oriented models. Many Porsche models now have a turbocharged engine, but only the top performing models in any given model range are called "turbo". It's much the same with their EVs. The top performers are simply adopting the performance branding of their ICE cars. So it is tradition, but it's also consistent with how all their vehicles are marketed.

Thanks, a little confusing, but makes sense

I see it as similar to the ICE world where downsizing happened, but they kept old nomenclature.

330i used to mean a 3 series with a 3.0 liter engine. Now it's a 2.0 turbo 4 that fills the role of that old NA 3.0 engine.

He just learned his loaner ‘23MYLR is a lemon law buyback 🥴

He bought his ‘21 M3LR used. I told him there had to be a preexisting issue with the screen unless the previous owner never took it in for service to address it. He’s had the car less than 2 weeks.

Haha that's funny 🤣 At least it's only a loaner.

As Allen mentioned, I wouldn't take the car back without them changing the screen. I'm sure that's what they will do now, they say third time's a charm

My friend was finally able to make the 200 mile roadtrip in his M3LR that he hasn’t been able to make in his MYLR without stopping to charge. He said his speed varied from 72-77mph. He started out at 100% (99%) and arrived at the charging station 212 miles away with 15%. Now on his way back home on the same drive his navigation is telling him to stay under 75mph to reach destination (charging destination) then from there back home. He started out with 79% going back home.

Only thing, the speed limit is 75mph for majority of the drive. This is the same highway where I’m towing 80+mph so I assume he was in the right lane for entire 200 miles. Traffic flows at a good pace on this route.
