Default 2019 ES 390H Navigation screen

I’m hoping someone can help me. I noticed when I drive on the fwy, the navigation system show every exit and POI for each exit. I know I can use the touch pad to have it not show the upcoming exits. I think it it is called single screen or mode. Is there a way to have that done automatically in the setup somewhere?

You can retain the split screen and then scroll the side screen back to map when it goes to freeway mode. There may be a way to automate that but I'm not familiar with it.

I share this frustration but I have not found any way to disable this in the settings. It is slightly annoying, but I actually used it on a road trip last year in our 2015 ES so it certainly CAN be useful. My "opinion" is that the people who design these features never use them so they don't see how awkward the configuration can be.

I think I read somewhere in this forum that there is a way to change this in SETTINGS but I just can't recall the details.

Thanks. I will have to do some digging in the menus and/or searches on the forum.

Searches located this setting from Str8aero, item 7 in "Carplay, Google Maps & Navigation Questions" thread:

I had contacted my dealer Tech support guy regarding my nav/infotainment system randomly rebooting. He said he had two updates on a USB stick if I wanted to come by he'd put them on. He wasn't sure they would fix my particular problem but the info did say something about "stability fixes" - it was also supposed to fix some issue with CarPlay. I live close to the dealership so I swung by yesterday and he put them on... one nice think the tech guy pointed out is that you can now shut off the annoying freeway exits popping up continually as you drive down the highway!

Yes, that's my recollection, too. In fact, my recollection is that I posted the same complaint and it turned out that I needed to update the navigation software to enable the setting that lets you turn off the display of upcoming exits as the default. If you bought your ES recently, it may already have this update.

Since I now exclusively use Apple CarPlay, I haven't used the Lexus navigation in months.

What's the software version? I'm on 2020 model but didn't see that option to turn off.

2020s should have the latest software, but you might want to go here: https://securedp.lexus.com/download-app/getUpdates
and select 2019, which will return the upgrade that has the exit-turnoff option, and then upload it. The upload process will indicate if this version is already installed.

Today, I just went through the settings and found that "detailed navi settings" but I can't figure out how I got there!

I did have to begin a new route and then clicked the "3 options" button once it began the process.

Definitely a senior moment happening here.

Maybe not a senior moment - the settings menus are not exactly intuitive. I replaced my cell phone this past week and it almost took another week for me to figure out how to delete and then add the new device

Perseverance:

Menu > Setup > Navigation > Detailed Navi Settings > it's in there
