Default Two Dumb N00b Questions

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased two 2015 Lexus ES 350s - one for me, one for my daughter. I have two quick questions that I hope you guys don't yell at me for asking.

1) Is the shop manual available for viewing somewhere on this forum? I like to do my own maintenance, and I found the shop manual for our 2012 Honda Pilot on another forum, and that did me a world of good.

2) Has anybody installed aftermarket stereo equipment and posted a tutorial? I would like to install some speakers, amplifiers, and a 10" subwoofer. I would like to leave the head unit as is. I like to listen to music on my commutes (but I don't like to play the music obnoxiously loud as to irritate other drivers), and the stock sound system in these cars is not good. I don't think I have they ML package, just so you know.

I just joined the forum today and searched for these answers, but alas, I couldn't find any info. Please don't berate me.

Thanks,
kri5tian

I used this one for a subwoofer install. I also replaced the dash speakers. Huge upgrade.

Sorry man, no comment on your questions.

Nice ride for yourself and daughter. I plan to gift my 2017 ES350 (~38K mikes as of today) to my 16YO son in about 3 years once he hits college. He is driving my wife's old 08 RX350 AWD (158K miles) as of this moment. : )

If you have any questions about the subwoofer install, I installed a JBL BassPro12 in my trunk, swapped out the dash and door speakers, just let me know! I can be happy to help.

Thank you guys for the responses!!! I had to deal with some household hassles lately, so I didn't check the forum for replies. Please don't take my late reply as me not being appreciative of your suggestions!!! I'm shocked you guys were able to replace the dash speakers because I thought that would require removing the entire dash. I'll check out the instructions to see what you guys did. I'm looking forward to taking my time and doing it right, because I'm 46 now and want this car to last me until I'm 60 = )

Too bad there are no free service manuals floating around. I don't even think they make Haynes manuals anymore.

Mr. or Mrs. shoodes, how do I message you? I don't see any link to directly message you instead of posting on the thread. I would most definitely want to ask you how you accessed the dash and door speakers and wired up everything!!! Every single time I've installed aftermarket stereo equipment, I've always gotten that alternator whine, despite using best practices and being an electrical engineer!!!! I always ran power and signal apart from each-other and used adequate gauge wires and a solid ground, but still I got the whine. I just end up buying a ground loop isolator to fix it. I didn't see any instructions to remove the speakers - I'm very worried about the dash ones because they seem extremely difficult to access.
