So I tried to call Lexus to ask if my 07 was reintroduced into the fray and I was basically told to kick rocks. Apparently now there catching up on defective 08/09 dashboards. Actually the lady got defensive when I called them defective dashboards, there sometimes prone to damage from heat and humidity as she described it. Her advice was to pay out of pocket and order the parts then seek reimbursement from Lexus after the fact. I don’t know if it’s just that the time bomb expired or them disturbing the dash to swap out the airbag but I now have multiple cracks where when I bought the car back when it was warmer it was just ashy looking with a few little imperfections.

We received notice on the wife’s 2008 es350 years ago that the dash would be replaced if, but only if, it became a problem. No problem so far. No update received either.

Received similar notice on a 2004 4runner which was never a problem and no longer owned.

I also called about our ‘07. The dash is very sticky in places. Right after we bought it my wife tried dusting the dash off with a towel, BAD idea. I liked to have never got all the lint out of the sticky places.

Anyway, I was told that the new campaign is not available for our ‘07.

I just made that same mistake today with my '07 ES. Sounds like I'll be stuck with white towel lint on the dash. Were you able to remove it with anything? I was going to try a lint roller, but doubt that'll work.

I never checked to see if my dash was melting/sticky but today while wiping the interior down (as others stated with a white towel) it left lint ALL over that area of the dash (which is right above the gauge cluster) and I also noticed it looks like someone has been stabbing the dash in certain spots (especially above the gauge cluster). My worry is that my car isn’t included because I haven’t received a letter from Lexus like I did with the airbag recall AND I’m also worried because it’s only melting/sticky above the gauge cluster (I noticed it looks sorta shiny on the passenger side near the defroster vents) and I’m afraid Lexus won’t cover it because it’s not a huge portion of the dash. Do I need to contact the dealer too see if my is included?
