Default Oh Yeah!! New Dash Campaign

Talked to Lexus Driver customer service and was told my VIN, 2011 ES350 is included in the new dash/ trim replacement campaign. I made appointment for tomorrow for inspection. FYI, under my profile on the Lexus drivers website it said nothing about this. I only saw my car needs the airbag recall done. Now I feel better about Lexus because they didn’t cover my year on the first campaign. I included pics of my dash.

Holy smokes, I didn't realize the melting dash problem was happening with 2011's. So, 2010's are bad too? Gotta go check on this!

Yep, its all the way across and anything that touched it is stuck instantly. My wife put some mail up there and I almost fainted when I saw. Bottom of envelopes were literally glued to it, had to pick out with tweezers. Lexus said the new campaign is called “ZLD”. The old one was “ZLD”.

I searched Google and don't see any recent documentation about this new campaign. Nothing comes up for my 2010 ES VIN number either. Did you mistype... are both called "ZLD"?

Nope it’s ZLZ. Rep said the original campaign was ZLD and it covered older cars. ZLZ is the new campaign that covers newer vehicles. I called the customer service from the Lexus Driver site. I gave her my VIN and she pulled up my vehicle and my contact info which was 4 yrs old. The # is (800) 255-3987‬. Also the site only showed airbag recall for me. It sounds like it’s so new that you basically have to call and check.

I guess the LS forum has known about this since last month but somehow the news never made it over to the ES forum. Someone posted a copy of a notification letter they got... posted in the thread at post #8...

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...panel-etc.html

Looking at the letter, if I'm reading it right, the campain goes all the way out to Mar 2021, so I gotta try to remember this if my car develops a melting dash or cracking plastics.

ellocovg... where are ya???

Just dropped my car off at dealer and they confirmed it. Service guy said you need to either call them or Lexus Dealer to confirm with VIN, website not accurate. Also this campaign replacement shouldn’t take as long as earlier one. Maybe a couple of weeks if they have to order.

Ahh sucks I thought they had resolved the issue for the 2010+ models. My 07’s dash is crapping out I was planning on buying one from a 2010+ via junkyard, quess there goes that idea.

Doesn't this apply to 2007 cars also. If so, you can get it done now.

You are welcome. I was so upset w/ Lexus for years because only a few years were covered when obviously it went way beyond that. Other than the dash/ trim issue I’ve had no major issues with my 2011. I have put 140,000 miles on her and counting.

Actually, this is the first time I've heard of any post-2010 vehicles with the dash problem. I've only read about 2007 - 2009 and so I thought they fixed it with the 2010 release, but I guess not. While I'm glad to see this campaign come up... I'm worried at the same time!

Okay I dropped my car off last Tuesday and it was ready 3 days later on Friday. Dashboard replaced and airbag recall completed. New dashboard makes such a difference.

is this covered on 2012 also ? not ES but wondering if its RX aswell
my dad lives in florida and about a year ago we got him a 2012 RX350 i have not seen it yet but im wondering if he will qualify for it im sure that with the hot south florida sun that there is some damage to the dash
cause my 2007 was in florida for the first 6 years of its life and in 2012 or 2013 the lexus deal replaced my dash because they had known about this issue even before the campaign had started i was friends iwth the body shop manager and he took care of it when the car was in for repair form an accident

Not sure but call Lexus customer service and have them run the VIN. I wouldn’t trust having the dealer check it. I bought my ‘11 in 2014 in Alabama . The original owner lived in Florida and I’ve lived in Louisiana for 3 years. So I would say it makes sense cats in hot location would show more damage.
