Replaced fuel pump, now gas gauge doesn't work
Hey everyone, just replaced my fuel pump from a friends 2000 Toyota Avalon to my 99 lexus es300 and now my gas gauge doesn't work. The needle is dropped all the way down. I plan on buying the oem fuel pump for my car but just in case this isn't the problem, what else could it be?

this is definitely the fuel sending unit.
I have not seen what it looks like on the ES300/Avalon, but on a Honda the fuel sending unit is attached to the fuel pump housing that gets submerged into the tank.
The fuel sender usually has a metal arm with a "float" which on the end of it makes contact with a circuit board that tells the gauge what the fuel level is.
I would double check your connections or the fuel sender from the avalon could be incompatible or broken.
