Default 97 es300 BRAKE indicator on Dash won't turn off

All weekend no problems, then going to work this AM the car starts normally but brake indicator light on dash won't go off.
What are my options for checking this out?

I checked the brake fluid -> OK not low

Does driving in Reverse and slamming on brakes adjust brakes?

Do I need new brake pads?

Any help truly appreciated.

The "brake" light alone just means that the parking brake is on, unless there is a different brake indicator light.

Check parking brake switch to make sure it is not stuck "on".

What do you mean by brake fluid "not low"? Double check fluid and make sure you're at the maximum level. Usually the light goes on if brake fluid is near the low mark, not necessarily below the minimum mark.

Does anyone know the location of this switch? I'm having the same issue and I use my foot/e-brake every time I park. I noticed that when i tap the lever with my foot it turns off. Do I just need to change the switch?

Make sure that your hand brake is released, than pull back on it with your hand. See if the light now goes off.

It's gotta be either the brake fluid is low, or the float is broken, or the ebrake switch is stuck.

Or a combination of those.
