ECU capacitor repair in socal? (SD)
Does anyone know of a person or place that can replace all the caps in my ECU for a reasonable price?
I found one guy on CList up in LA (Lexus ECU rebuild service) that offers the repairs but I'm hesitant to have him do the work since I will not be able to test the ecu up there. Unless someone has used his services before and can vouch.

This is going to be one of those odd repairs. My suggestion would be to find a local electronic appliance repair shop and ask the tech if they would be willing to perform such a service on your PCB. If you have an electronics dismantler, you can also ask for recommendations.
In past times your TV repair guy would have done this. The age of modular builds took over so the guys who used to do repairs on vacuum tube gear are a lost generation for the most part. I just ordered the caps for mine even though the car is not exhibiting symptoms. Depending on my mood I will do it but I'm not a regular user with the soldering iron so a skilled tech would be my preference.
If you find one, please post. This will be beneficial to many others to come. Same for others who've found service for ailing ECU's.
