thanks buddy, I found a few replacement ECU, and a couple of places that will reprogram the ECU, but a mechanic I know, cautioned against it because they often times have problems of their own, and some times the car won't even start, he told me of a service that he uses, in which they send the ECU to a company which reprograms your individual ECU, then returns it, he informed me that many repair/reprogram services are actually sending you back a different eCU than the one you sent them. So i dont know what I am going to do yet, derfinatly not paying the dealer 2Gs. The problem does not effect the performance of the car. So i may just leave it be. Ill keep you all updated... Thanks Again

Which one? The wiring/shorting of pins or the battery cable removal? The battery cable removal won't work. Been there, done that.....

I think your mechanic friend is talking about the actual Engine ECU. The VSC unit should have nothing to do with the car starting. I would just make sure that whatever year VSC unit you buy is compatible with your car.

Btw, there is nothing wrong with even using a used Engine ECU. You would just have to have your keys/ignition re-programmed and the car would start-up fine.

if you plug any aftermarket ECU reader to your car to run diagnostic, the VSC light will glow.
You should try jumbering the wires pin 3 and pin 5 and it should work. Do exactly as it says in the thread. tell me, when you traid the jumbering soulution did the light switched off and then when drive came back?!! Or it did not switch off at all?
If it did not switch Off at all then this means either one of two things:-
1- You did not apply the procedures correct!
2- Or your VSC circut is not complete.

the vsc light isnt on, actually even if you push the button it doesnt turn on.. so i think there might be a problem involved with the ecu on that too.
