Default Program TPMS

I bought a new wheel and tire package for my GX470. I went ahead and replaced the TPMS. Does anyone know a place that can program the TPMS? Lexus wants $116 to program it.

Thanks!

As far as I know Lexus is the only one that can do this. It does cost an arm and a leg though for a 5min job.

I also went to the dealer in the end. It took longer than I thought. I was waiting a good 2 hrs before they were done.

I had Firestone try resetting it but the spare tire TPMS was not resetting (it was the original TPMS) with the new TPMS. I tried removing the spare, but the system was looking for the spare TPMS and would not reset. I guess it is a LEXUS thing.

What did my mom tell me; if you can't afford the maintenance don't buy the car.

I'm buying a set of TPMS sensors for my aftermarket wheels from a another CL member. Just wondering if have to reprogram them or can I just slap them on. And if I have to reprogram do they have to be mounted on or not. By the way the seller has a 250 and I have a 350. Thanks for any advice!

You will have to reprogram them. What I have read, each TPMS has a unique ID that needs to be set in the on board computer. As for the 250/350, it should not matter. As long as the optimal tire pressure of your new tires is the same as the old tire. I think it is 32PSI, with the senors going off at 29 or lower PSI.
