That doesn’t mean that their product is all great.

Ford Taurus was #1 selling car for many years and it was terrible in many ways.

Great Sales #s don’t equal to being the best product.
This discussion can be had in the Tesla Business thread. Whatever criticisms you have of them, it's fair game in that thread

Re: Tesla "dependability"

Peeps don't read much do they?

"Infotainment systems continue to be most problematic"

Since the entire car is centered around it's infotainment, natural to be higher. Also, the fact it is easy for owners to just complain via the app readily compounds things..

let the moderators do the moderating please. If you have a real issue with a post, report it. (This is not one to report btw)

I read it, and it also notes one of the key issues that cause infotainment complaints are CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity issues, which Tesla doesn’t even have so I assume it wouldn’t impact their scores at all like most other manufacturers. “Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity (5.5 PP100);”.

Also said “ “IQS and VDS data are telling us that if the Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity trend continues, this area could take over the least-coveted top spot for problems in long-term durability,” Hanley said.

I didn't have an issue with his post, so why would I report it? I was only suggesting that if he wanted to discuss Tesla, let's do it in the proper thread

Glad to see mine there. I have not had a single issue but that may change because warranty is about to go out. Lol. But by this time, I already had some issues with my last GX. Korean brands and Toyota surprised me. MB is expected as it was already reported awhile back by CD (?) which was claimed, by youknowwho, to be a non-credited survey. I wonder what they have to say over this. Lol.

Everybody I know with moden X5s they are pretty solid...

Oh...lots lol. They had a lot of rollout problems with their 48V electrical system, a lot of other general reliability problems with that model in that first year.

The bigger issue is the horrendous battery degradation over time on these Teslas that lose to 30-50miles of range each year. Similar to iPhone which holds charge less and less as it gets older.
IMO this is totally expected. I don't know if technologies are different but I would think batteries behave in similar way. After so many charges, it will lose its peak performance, and eventually die. But I guess we can see this as one of wear and tear component in non EVs?

Biggest one is... the wiper but it's not just GLE. GLE specific is build quality and as Steve said, 48V on higher models and some other random shaking/rattles. This is not just MY2020 though. It's still dragging unfortunately. So sad for otherwise a nice luxurious SUV.

I want to see LS and LX reliability. But since you still can't get an LX (the only one I've seen was one doing a test drive) even in HEAVY Land Cruiser/LX country here who knows when I'll have some data.

200s are all over the place, my NDNs are selling and I think a guy with a black mid-cycle 200 LC might be the new owner. I waved at him like he was the new owner lol, he drove by me as I was against my mailbox grabbing mail in my LX.

I wonder if the 3.4tt is any more reliable in LX.

Since it is apparently just fine to blatantly make things up on CL, I will counter and say a Tesla GAINS 30-50 miles of range per year. In 10 years you never have to charge the battery. I am providing sources to my claims in the same way you are.

CR does the same thing, dings reliability if a person doesn't know how to use the infotainment system.

Anyway, props to Toyota's Luxury division they've mastered the art of reliability.

A shame, too, as Ford has come out with some enormously popular new designs lately, such as the Maverick and Bronco/Bronco-Sport....they can't fill existing demand.
Ford is a mixed bag for reliability. Nothing much has changed.

ah, can count on you for the good news.

i know you're just relaying it, but i find it annoying that jd power calls it a '2023' study when it's info on 2020 vehicles. do owners have to have them for all 3 years?

i don't think the new LX was out in 2020 was it?
