It's not too far off from saying "look how big a discount you can get on the Sienna. It must be crap." Without noting that the new, never titled Sienna in question is a 2019 model, and there was an all-new model for 2021.

This is the worst possible example you could have come up with. Note that these are Ram 1500 "Classic", which is the 4th generation Ram truck that was replaced by the 5th generation FIVE years ago. They've continued production on the older trucks under the Classic name. This is not super unusual in the truck space. But trucks in general always have big discounts to begin with, and ones that have long since been replaced by a far superior model sitting right next to it on the dealer lot even moreso.

Go back and read my previous post again. The trucks you posted were from a previous generation that was replaced with a new generation FIVE YEARS AGO. Though there's a 2022 date on the label, they're not anything remotely resembling a current model.

here is a current model
If I need a truck. I would take the RAM and 10% off over the Tundra. The 10% difference is a smarter financial move
I wouldn’t take the classic though.

Sounds like a wise man.
I didn't say don't plan, I said "never plan enough". According to someone, Toyota/Lexus make great vehicles. Why not lease if you like one? Lease or buy is not that much different IMO. Replacing vehicles early is the same as you pay to play or you throw away money however one wants to see it. Pay now or pay later. Same thing IMO.
I always plan for the future. When I left college many many years ago…I always thought of the future down the road…I’ve always been in avoidance of any interest payments…now it is an obsession in my later life
Happy you bought your non Lexus So many good choices out there.
I don’t get why anyone would lease a Toyota or Lexus. There are so many better choices to lease.

thanks! you too.
that's because unlike ram, they're not still selling the old model as well!
chrysler obviously continued to do that with the dodge caravan (ancient) and chrysler pacifica (new).
my uncle who lives near you (mississauga) just bought the latest year caravan he could find (2020) because he thoroughly enjoyed his old one.

That was my entire point. Thank you for agreeing with my "poor argument".

Something I think is pretty remarkable for 2022 is that the IS 500 had all sorts of issues (check engine light, front apron separation, etc.), yet the IS still managed to be top of its class.
Pretty interesting.
I guess the IS 500 was a smallish chunk of sales, and also, I'm sure JDP's scoring methodology doesn't include every little thing that can go wrong. It's kinda neat to see the IS win that despite being not-new.
