Not really buying that. This is out of a 2003 that was just on bringatrailer:

And this is gathered leather:

Overall, the leather on your seat bottom center has loosened. If it doesn't bother you then great.

Not the way the integrate the wood into them now.

A car like mine, that wheel looks out of date, but it's fine with me.

I think it's just worn but no, it doesn't bother me. I also see only 73k on the odometer in that car you posted. I've got more than double the mileage. My car has been well used, I wouldn't say abused at all but I used to work a messy job and and it got dragged into my car....etc. Stuff like that. I never really cleaned it properly myself, ever over the last 5-6 years since it's been in the garage since we bought our house.

It's as comfortable a throne as ever. As much as I love my LX, getting in the LS is noticeably more comfortable... starting with the seats. I think they wear very well. My friend has a 430 with brand spanking new looking leather and it's great but I almost like the worn look nearly as much. It's like your old recliner. Hell it's a 20 year old car lol.

I should note that the seats were still a little damp from cleaning in that picture which gives it even more of a looser look.

Full leather is cheaper, it's not as complex and is not different enough from a common cars soft plastic wheel. The wood adds complexity and class

That's cuz most sales people suck, sad to say.
Getting people what they want and meeting -AND EXCEEDING- a customer's expectations is all a GOOD salesman has to do.
Bonus points for genuine and real.

Boring....
Making me yawn.

Add some wood features and jazz it up a little. haha

Only way you can go wrong is maybe full out gangsta mode, don't do this, ULTRA TACKY.

I don't blame you and am surprised the salesman was shocked you HAD to have a wood wheel. Not everyone agrees but wood steering wheels just scream "luxury car". I wouldn't go without it either.
yeah, no. i hate wood on steering wheels. cold when it's cold out. too grippy if it's glossy. i only want same material all the way around. i love wood in interiors though...

one of the nicest interiors on any car i've owned was a 1994 acura legend. walnut for the win, and sloping controls into vents kinda like that old ls400.

Why would anyone do that to a original 300? That is one of the coolest dash layouts I've ever seen btw, it looks amazing at night and if you have a top engine the cars still hold up today

Oh yeah. Those old Acuras looked great. I couldn’t imagine this specific car LS430 without a wood one though.

Considering my old floor mat looked like this:

To this, pretty good job. I do still need new floor mats overall though.

I owned the car new remember? The leather is gathered. The degree of the gathering varies from model to model, its part of the handmade feel of the car.

From the brochure, you can see the gathered leather on the doors and the seats:

My point was the gathered look still shouldn't look loose, which a 20 year old car with 140k+ miles understandably is. That's why I posted a pic of another LS430 and a car with particularly accentuated gathered leather. Even in his picture you can see the back seat which is properly ruffled but still tight looking.

Nice interior. I actually prefer this over a LS400/430
