I mean the roof is somewhat important for overall torsional flex resistance lol! Just ask a convertible owner.....carbon is good for that since it doesn't flex and makes sense.

Yep, it doesn't have a place on interiors IMO. It's the same as having bare metal around the doors when closed in my mind.

Why does this trigger you so? Its just an option of interior trim, there is no right or wrong its all personal preference. Lots of people hate wood trim too. I prefer wood, but on the right sporty car carbon fiber can look great.

I think on the S63 for instance the carbon fiber trim looks awesome, it's classy yet it tells you that its not a run of the mill S Class:

I feel the same way about the S8:

Totally just messin;, but at same time just showing like you said above(if I remember) that basically taste is subjective.

I could argue that some taste is bad and universally agreed tho, at least I hope we can agree some things just should NOT be done...

Me, looks ok but I don't like Carbon fiber cuz it reminds me of my Ex GFs Tiburon with the carbon fiber fuel door every time I see it, and makes me wanna barf lol

Because it looks cheap and boy racerish. It removes the fingerprint of organic uniqueness that wood imparts and looks generic.

When I was looking for an S8 I was only considering ones with wood or having to swap all of that out.

That's a perfectly valid opinion, but I don't understand why it makes you angry. That's why we have options.

Done right I think it looks high tech and expensive...

to you. tons of enthusiasts love it, think it's classy and awesome and think wood interior is for old people. that's a valid opinion too, although obviously just that, an OPINION, not a fact.

as for boy racerish, aren't you the guy who goes 150+ on public roads?

It's not classy by definition. It's a cheap played out modern trend and I'll be looked back on as such the same way fake vents and exhausts are already being derided.

I already explained how I drive and it hasn't given anyone any issues. If I'm alone on a bridge going 150+ only person it will effect is me, I paid for fast cars so I'll use them to their ability. If I wasn't interested in that I would get a comfortable van

Come on...this is just your opinion...your opinion is not fact. Carbon fiber is played out but wood trim isn't? That doesn't make any sense. You don't like carbon fiber trim, that doesn't make it all of those things.

Wood is a timeless material, carbon fiber is like linoleum. Cool and trendy when it came out but a product of its time and shoveled into every "premium" product to the detriment of the possibility of prestige. Like the Mercedes star on an A or C class.....

I like the Mercedes design of the interior. The pic you posted looks great, however I do not fund the metal or chrome as well as the suede steering wheel and bits and parts appealing. The circle vents I don't like and the window vent would look proper if it were located in the door like the LS500 has it. I also find that this design looks superior than the new 223 design. But I really like beige interiors. Hate black...even though my 4R and Matrix are black. The Audi picture is not my cup of tea in any way. The shifter is not something I find appealing. Especially the buttons.

Again, your opinion.

And I see no issue with the Mercedes star on a C Class. C Class is a proper RWD sport/luxury sedan...
