.......IMO, it still is. And so is the 1Gen Enclave.
Gen 1 Enclave has a terrible interior I can tell you from personal experience. Acres of fake, ugly wood on the doors. Thin leather, shockingly obvious fake stitching on the dash, some of the switchgear is bad to awful.
The shifter, climate controls, and stalks are excellent however. The steering wheel is nice and the only part of the interior that has real wood.
It's a "nice car" inside but not for someone picking, or spoiled rotten by high end Lexus cars because the interior overall is crappy.
Oh it's comfortable and plenty nice, though. There's a reason it's still in the family fleet.
. Being this is my first car in the luxury class, I personally think it’s great overall, but there are some light touches I think Lexus could’ve done to make it more “luxurious”.
What would say Lexus could do better with on the new NX?
I checked one out yesterday. I liked what they did inside. There are a few places where the corner cut. One was exposed door sills. And the door courtesy lights are deleted on the lower end trim models.

My biggest gripe is the dash being hard plastic. I think they should wrap it in leather like they do with the higher models. My other gripe is the passenger side of the dash being so plain. I think there was an opportunity to maybe create some indentation for the ambient lighting, similar to what they did with the RX. And then they can replace the brushed aluminum accents on the steering wheel and window buttons with nickel or chrome. At least put the Lexus emblem in chrome so it can stand out. But that’s it! I love the simplicity of the cabin otherwise.

I love it! Just what Lexus needed to put it back in the spotlight. I was never much of a Lexus fan before because of the outdated tech and look. I think they’re putting more of a focus of being modern and futuristic with their car builds, in which case they are knocking out the park.

Yeah. I’ve tried out the new infotainment system. It’s great. I think keeping some hard buttons was a wise idea.

I agree the actual interior materials (except for the real-wood steering wheel) aren't that good, but IMO they look nice.
That reads like an add to me....they are nice but they are no way on the level of an S-class of any type unless you are comparing the absolute base version.
From a general car brand perspective across all their models, I'd say Rolls Royce or Genesis (yes - Genesis). As a single standalone vehicle, the LC500 has to be among the top ones on the list.

and an s-class is very austere compared to something like a bentley...
