I really, really disliked the previous gen. I saw one of these new ones and thought it looked...a little less offensive than the outgoing model. I guess that's an improvement?
The rear seems to have an Audi A7 vibe. The front is plain, like they did a 180 from the previous gen. But since it's an Accord, and not offensive, it will sell, especially those looking for a sedan as there's not a lot left to pick from.
I actually really liked the generation before this one. I find this one to be boring. Vanilla. I liked its predecessor a lot. I test drove and wanted to buy a sport touring. The cost to insure it was insane, so I didn't end up getting one. It was very comfortable and I think it would have run rings around my 2016 IS350 F Sport that I was turning in at the end of my lease. This Accord looks like a car you'd be happy to get as a rental because you could do way worse, but definitely not a car to buy.
ps. be kind to your rental car counter agent because the car you reserved is probably there up until you become a pain in the ***. It's been almost 30 years since I was the agent, but more than a few drove off with the Cavalier with a square right rear tire when the car they reserved mysteriously showed up just as they were leaving. Oops. Did I miss that? LOL.
Source? Rumours point to the 3.5 being replaced by the 2.4T.
Read it somewhere credible.
Automakers have no choice, they have to make cars that get an xxx MPG average to meet CAFE standards thanks to regulations.
I'm sure plenty of Mercedes engineers are disgusted at all the 2.0ts. I see so many Mercedes that look SO.DAMN.SHARP. But they're mostly all equipped with 2.0ts which completely ruins any appeal. It's fun to catch Karens off guard in the LX570 with the massive NA torque down low. It happens more than you might think.
