luxury car brand loyalty declining
When he made that comment, I was going to reply something like "I think he really stepped in it now", but decided to leave that to others....
And of course the ultimate in luxury is associated with cars that have giant V8 or even V12 engines.
If you are buying an expensive car like a Tesla to save on fuel costs, I suggest you check your math. A Civic/Corolla/Accord/Camry ot any hybrid is a far better choice financially. By the way, in a few years the Model Y may overtake the Corolla as the #1 selling vehicle in the world, quite a feat for a $70K SUV.
Tesla voice commands support many languages and more continue to be added. And don't worry about the windshield wipers; they are automatic. You can also control them via voice commands.

Uhm... maybe you should do the math to confirm yourself. Model 3 is not even considered expensive. It's an equivalent Accord/Camry after everything is factored into the math. Even one of the Tesla owners here admitted it too. But I get it. You and many don't see it that way. Model Y may cost 70K but if you do your math right, it's not a 70K vehicle.
. But I understand what you are saying
And actually the $40K price for the Model 3...I believe that includes the gas savings calculations...look at the very bottom of the page
I don't want to get into who, but I've seen multiple posts including reply's to me specifically saying the Model 3 is expensive...using that very word. I've never seen anyone say a Camry or Accord is expensive. Using the energy saving calculations is meaningless to people who don't believe it, and there are many people on CL who actually don't believe that EV's can save you money. Just look at as an example the Motor Trend article I posted...it's been called everything from propaganda to shrill...and even paid advertising.

Are you serious man? What kind of saving is this? You either pay first or pay later. I'm out for this "discussion".

They do have lower running costs but if you don't drive much a lease will always cost more than you would ever spend on running costs.....the EV means you will pay more per month and it only makes sense if you were already using a lot of distance to make up the gas cost. If you don't use much then it's just flat out more expensive for a fewer feature car.
At the end of the day $5000 will get you a 100% reliable form of transport and anything past that is some form of luxury....

Only car I'm paying anything on right now is the 460 and it's hilariously cheap, finance terms were so good I was technically being paid for the loan due to inflation and all that. Everything else is just insurance (very low due to how seldom driven they are, my Saturn for example is $17 a month) and gas.
I honestly have that exact issue with my fleet, I sometimes have to intentionally drive a car otherwise only the LSs and Audi get driven regularly. The Jeep is only used to go to and from work on days I know it's going to be a messy job or I am picking up major parts.

Up here, the price disparity is wider.
I think I get what you’re saying…hard to get an opinion out in any EV thread …but I think hybrids make more sense for vast majority of consumers. No charging required. 600-700 miles of range. IMO, I don’t care for hybrid part in any way….rather just have straight gas model

Maybe a better choice of word is luxury. This is how they are stacked up without the prepaid gas.
