I'm surprised to see the new Integra is selling as well as it is. It's like the 4 Series all over again, internet hates it but everyone buys it (likely due to the badge or nostalgia).

Mitsubishi Motors Reports 2nd Quarter 2022 Sales, Outlander Sales Performance Continues to Lead the Way
July 01, 2022 — FRANKLIN, Tenn.Download Subscribe
Share
- Outlander racks up five consecutive quarters of record retail sales, the best year of sales since the nameplate was introduced in 2002
- Outlander quarterly retail sales up 55.9% compared to Q2 2021
- Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross retail sales up year-over-year
- Outlander quarterly retail sales up 55.9% compared to Q2 2021
Having recently celebrated 40 years of business operations in the United States, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today reported 2nd quarter 2022 sales. Mirroring similar concerns across the auto industry, supply constraints of many vehicle lines held overall sales to 21,872, a year-over-year decrease. Nevertheless, with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan working to maximize inventory of the 2022 Outlander for U.S. customers, sales of the company's flagship vehicle bucked the general trend and were up 55.9% versus the same period 2021.
The 2022 Outlander has earned outstanding customer and media accolades since launching in February of 2021. In that time, the 7-passenger SUV marked its best-4 consecutive-quarters of retail-only sales since the nameplate was introduced in the U.S. more than 20 years ago. April represented the 4th-best single retail month ever for Outlander.
Other notable sales successes included Eclipse Cross, with 5,712 retail sales in the 1st half, up 31% over the same period last year, and Outlander PHEV, with 1,126 retail sales across the 1st half of the year, a 76% improvement over the 1st half of 2021.
Total vehicle sales across the entire Mitsubishi lineup stands at 21,872 for the quarter, with Outlander representing 46.8% % of total sales by volume – followed by Outlander Sport at 22.4% and Eclipse Cross at 7.9%.
As is the case across the industry, MMNA's dealer partners continue to see inventory impacted by supply chain challenges and remain well below customer demand.
News and Notes
- Mitsubishi Motors' all-new 2023 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) was displayed at the Twin Cities Auto Show, a logical event given that the St Paul metro area is the largest single market in the U.S. for Outlander PHEV. Outlander PHEV is the world's best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV. The all-new, seven-seat, plug-in hybrid will be available in dealerships later this year.
- MMNA announced an industry-leading work-from-home policy earlier this year, a benefit more common among cutting-edge technology companies than automotive brands.
- On June 1, MMNA formally kicked off its partnership with Santander Consumer, USA, to provide retail financing and leasing options to its customers and dealer partners. Santander brings extensive experience in auto financing, and a clear focus on helping Mitsubishi Motors' customers.

Hyundai is the third largest automaker in the world now...
Hyundai Motor Group becomes world's No. 3 automaker in sales volume
By Kim Hyun-bin
Hyundai Motor Group is now the world's third-largest automaker in terms of sales volume.
Hyundai Motor Group said Monday that its global sales volume from January to June of this year stood at 3.3 million vehicles, coming in third behind Volkswagen Group, which sold 4 million vehicles, and Toyota, which ranked first with 5.1 million vehicles sold.
The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance followed behind Hyundai with 3.14 million vehicles and Stellantis with 3.01 million vehicles sold.
Hyundai Motor Group ranked fifth in the first half of last year.
Experts say the production setbacks of global automakers due to the shortage of semiconductors contributed to Hyundai Motor Group's rise in the global market.
Hyundai Motor and affiliate Kia Corp. saw a 5.1 percent decrease in sales during the first half of this year compared to a year ago, but the gap was smaller than that of the other automotive groups.
Toyota's sales decreased by 6 percent, Volkswagen by 14 percent, Stellantis by 16 percent, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance by 17.3 percent and GM by 18.6 percent compared to the same period last year.
An increase in sales of Hyundai Motor's luxury Genesis brand and a strategy of entering the eco-friendly car market in its early stage also contributed to the rise of Hyundai Motor Group's global ranking.
Genesis vehicle sales totaled 25,668 units in the U.S., the world's second-largest automobile market, during the first half of 2022, setting a new record for the highest sales in the first half of the year.
According to Bloomberg, Hyundai Motor Group sold 27,000 EVs in the U.S. market between January and May of this year, ranking second after Tesla on the back of the popularity of the Ioniq 5 and EV6.
"It seems that Hyundai Motor Group's unique potential to use the unprecedented crisis in the automobile industry as an opportunity, such as the supply shortage of semiconductors and the transition to electrification, seems to have excelled," an automobile industry official said.
