I don't like getting calls from people I never gave my number to. Lol
At the same time I don't negotiate anything by text or email.
If I want to talk I give my number or call or show up. Lol
Yeah they'll say something sweet over the phone or text just to get you down there....
I fell for it when I found that Silver Arrow that was here in town (not the one I have). Good thing I passed because it was a POS compared to mine and it was about to go into a bidding war.

So update on the disappearing salespeople. Followed up with the guy we sat down with in person and drove the van with and asked if he had any headway on the numbers he promised. I reiterated that I would like to do this immediately…nothing.
Emailed back and forth with the other guy yesterday, he was great, got right back to me, got him the VIN for the van we have and the loan number so he could get the payoff, we discussed the lease terms and all, he said last night he would get me numbers first thing this morning…nothing lol.

and on top of that the Mercedes guy found me a car on the ground that will work, he can get it for me and “can sell it to me for MSRP”. If I’m paying MSRP I’m not buying a car on the ground that doesn’t have everything I want when the 24s come out any day.
The car he found is in Texas and that dealer has 215 S Classes. I might just contact them directly and see if they will work a deal and ship me the car.
Maybe I’ll just buy both cars I have out and say f it lol

It's usually us ghosting them, not the other way around.
You would certainly think!
So I finally heard back from both of them on the Pacifica. $920 a month from one and $905 from the other lol. Terrible. And supposedly thats with $12,000 off the sales price of $62,000...the money factor is .00485 with is the worst MF I have ever seen...that equates to 11.62% interest LOL. As an aside, the MF on the Grand Cherokee is .00079 which equates to 1.9% interest. So you can see what they want to sell.
So, won't be leasing that.
I also went and drove a 760, an i7, and an S580 back to back to back on the same course. Funny story, I walked into BMW and there stands the guy who sold me my S Class lol, he had left MB about a year ago. Apparently the sales manager from the MB dealer also went there. Maybe I can get some service.
First time I have driven the 760. I gotta say, I really like the new 7 series. Even the styling has really grown on me a lot. The interior is without a doubt higher quality and better design than the 223 S Class, although I do still like the S Class outside better, its more conventionally beautiful and I have to be honest, I would miss the three pointed star on the hood. That 7 though is an incredible car...really torn. Overall drivewise I prefer the i7, but the 760 is very close. The S is still slightly softer riding, and its on run flats still. New 7 no longer comes with runflats, so I wouldn't have to replace tires which is a plus. Bowers & Wilkins audio in the 7 is incredible, but if I ordered I would get the 4D in the S which would be great. You can get 7s on the ground with the B&W though...BMW seat massage is also much better than MB. Seats in the BMW are better, dash layout is better, tech is much better.
I drove the 7 and I was like "this is what I want" then the S580, "this is what I want" then I got back in my car "damn this is still great"....ugh...
They're going to send me numbers on the 760 and the i7, I'll share them here. Initial payment on the S580 was $2,450 with a meager $3k off MSRP and somehow not offering me the $10k lease cash I know they have...

Yes, I agree. I don't know why the auto industry pretty much dumped hood ornaments, except for the fact that they became a fad for kids to steal. Rolls Royce solved the problem by having a retractable hood ornament that folded down under the hood, under a small door, but that is obviously too expensive for everyday mass-production vehicles.

But oh yeah I remember them, the Conti we always talk about had one I think, and Caddys had them.... Not Mercedes special but certainly nice, I liked them in the Caddys my Dad had.

I would hope that a dealer with $30M in inventory of "last year's flagship" would be willing to deal.
