I have a central vac in my house and I used to think they were so 80’s old school. Then when I used them I realized how good the suction power was and I actually like it and they last forever. Problem is ours is at the back of the garage and I have to pull a car in to vacuum it or get an extra long hose which I don’t want to do. Your solution looks great.
Thanks man! I bought it purely by chance when I was browsing CL on my day off to look for good cars to flip lol!
Central vacs are no joke, like a full on Kirby in every room and near silent to top it off! Only one point of maintenance as well as the crazy power you noticed. Get the long hose, it's probably still readily available and if you have a strong unit it won't care too much with more hose length.
yeah i have a central vac and the main unit is in the garage where i can connect a hose and attachments to vacuum the cars.
i'm sure you love your new home but seems like you really needed a 3 or more car garage.
just wait until your kids drive too.
i've contemplated converting my current 3 car garage into a riant rec room and adding a bigger garage.
Guy was just getting rid of some old stuff, he is a craftsman type guy so it was in like new condition. Switching from woodworking to leatherwork as his new craft so no need for so many vacuums anymore
you don't use yours? i don't use mine too often in the house too often as i have a robot vacuum/mop now. but the central vac is great - very powerful and of course quiet in the house because the noise is in the garage! i also have under counter kick-switch type openings in the kitchen and master bathroom so any dust/dirt on the floor can just be swept to them and 'gone'.
Unfortunately 3 car garages are pretty rare around here…
When my folks lived in AZ, their house had a central vac. My mom loved it because it was heavy and unwieldy for her, so my dad had to do all the vacuuming lol.

ah, that's the GM "POS".
Stop.....stop making me want one even more!

No, I don't use it. To me hauling the hoses and all is just cumbersome, I took the vac out, I'm actually going to use it in the garage because its a great vacuum. Most of my clients with central vacs don't use them.
Those under counter sweep openings are great though, THOSE we would use.
Saw something totally rare yesterday. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. A first gen GS. I don't think I ever saw one in person, at least that I could remember. I would have taken a picture of it, but I don't think the person sitting in their car would have liked it.
Looked nice though. The rear was pretty unique looking. It looked considerably bigger than the second gen.
Oh wow I have never seen one myself. Sounds like a treat. Best thing I saw this week was a white MK4 Supra followed almost immediately by a Mercury Marauder. I thought this was awesome since I'm a Toyota guy and my buddy I was with is a Crown Vic guy. Two grails for the two people in the car. Granted a MK4, to me, is a little overrated. I'd much prefer a Mk3.
