The paint isn't out of the ordinary. Ever since they switched to more eco-friendly paint the significant orange peel has been normal - even on my SL. The two-tone Maybach S-class has the best paint from what I've seen.

Is the G-wagen not a real Mercedes?
The first model year cars out of the Alabama plant seem to always be very suspect but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one from there.

.
You're telling me the paint has gone to crap too because of the green movement?
No V12 anymore and smudgy paint on a $200,000 Maybach. Wow.
Said $200k Maybach needs to come from Germany, not Alabama.
not really. Mercedes uses an outsourced company to build them
would you buy a Mercedes if it was made in Mexico?
I have yet to reconsider a car purchase because of where it's built. I once owned a C-class that was built in South Africa and loved it. So yes, I would buy one from Mexico. As I mentioned in another thread here cousin's AMG GLB35 is a blast to drive and was built right in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The BMW 3-series has been built in Mexico for a few years now and there are no plant-specific complaints there either.

The Maybach GLS is made in Alabama. The sedan is indeed in built in Germany.
CarDealershipGuy (on Twitter) just posted the average auto loan rates for January
New: 8.41%
Used: 12.88%
Both decade highs. Source: DealerTrack
Crazy, and rates are gonna keep on climbing. Obviously these averages factor in all kinds of credit scores, etc. so we all know better deals can be had.. but still..
Those rates are WAY off. I mean even Bank of America has rates in the 5s.

Unfortunately like I've said before, MB paint is not as nice as Lexus.

Yes, as long as it was made well.
The GLE/GLS being built in America wouldn't factor into my purchase decision at all. My S560's paint has the same peel and it was built in Germany.
is this really a real Maybach? Or is it a high-end GLS with a fancy trim
Maybach as a standalone brand shuttered in 2012. You can either have a fancy GLS or a fancy S-class. The S-class has the differentiation advantage of being ultra-long wheelbase while the GLS is not elongated but does have a special 4 place seating arrangement. The back seats are shifted backwards in the car and the 3rd row is eliminated.
Average person has average credit. If 800 scores are in the 5s I can't imagine what a 600 score is getting
Actually the average credit score is in the low 700s. Tier 1 for most manufacturers is 680+, and they can usually do Tier 1 exceptions as low as 660 or so.
Unless you have TERRIBLE credit, no way you are paying 8+% for a car loan
