You married the wr.... J/K. I often feel lucky because my wife never asks for a van. The topic came up before but I talked her out of it.
It sometimes gets concerning when your SO takes your car without telling you if they are also into cars at all, that moment when you check the garage and your car is missing is a bit nerves lol!
We've enjoyed our time with the Ody, but will not miss it when the Rivian gets here this year. Once the kids outgrew the stroller, we didn't need all the space anymore although the lower load floor still does come in handy when we buy big things.

Trust us, mini van does not stir the soul. haha
The Fonz would never be caught driving one... Hey... lol
Unless you dream of hauling kids.

That's what I said when I saw my neighbors Sienne.
Said, dang I can put a ton of stuff in here.
Then I said, wow look at those rims, pop the hood let's check this beauty out.

I think that was the engine "wear limiter" letting the owner it was time to trade it in asap.

I installed a palm scanner and voice recognition, fixed it that problem fast, never happened again.

Minivans are not designed to stir souls. They are designed to stir practicality.

With Fonz, it's a non-issue. The Fonz (Henry Winkler), on a TV series that was set in the suburban 1950s, probably never had any conception of the true FWD minivans that would come some 30 years later. In the 1950s, there was only one "Minivan" as such....and it was the air-cooled/rear engine VW Microbus that didn't have enough power to get out of its own way, took a hundred miles of driving in the winter to get any cabin heat, sometimes leaked carbon monoxide into the cabin with that heat, and typically got blown around like a piece of paper in crosswinds.
But many of us want vehicles that stir our souls too. You CAN have both with just a little compromise on each...
I agree that there are compromises. It also depends on what one means by "stirring" souls. I, for one, like relaxed, quiet, pleasant driving, isolation from bumps, and a silky powertrain. That's what tends to stir me.......one reason why I like Buicks, which deliver a decent amount of that for the price.
