The fact that they never offered a V12 was a big disappointment. High quality interiors and good reliability for sure.

does your LS430 have HIDs?
Yeah it has HID's. Weren't they standard on all 430's?

I think it was because the V12 offered no real benefit over a V8. It was already smooth as hell and a power increase was very minimal. Still, you would think it'd still be an option.

my knowledge of Lexus LS cars is not that great. I just figured that if they offered a version with a radio…they’d probably offered a basic bulb type headlight. (Which I’d prefer over HID light but not over LEDs)

If the Lexus brand truly wanted to be on the same level as the Audi, MB, Jaguar and BMW brands…then yes a V12 was absolutely a must….otherwise the brand will never be on level footing. At least there was a V10.

I remember when Toyota was getting hammered in the press for a lack of a V8 with the Toyota trucks…..(ironic as now they don’t have one at all but instead they have a simulated one). Thankfully Toyota did have a V12 Century

Might as well face it, folks......we can argue all we're blue in the face, but the fact is that V8s and V12s are going to be mostly a thing of the past, except in maybe some very heavy-duty work trucks and exotic mega-sports cars.

We were talking about in the 90's and 2000's.

I get it, you just aren't the type of owner to skip the belt and I'm sure the ES tortures you. You want me to change it? I'll do it for free if you bring parts lol!

Issue is not many are the type to maintain their stuff, they tend to instead repair it once something goes wrong and when chains go wrong it's really bad.

The 460s have many chain related issues, all the hesitation problems are from chain roller wear causing noise the knock sensors pick up. The tensioners are great and don't usually have any issues but long oil changes wear on the rollers

That's the big problem. People don't change the oil on a regular basis or follow maintenance schedules and they wonder why their car has major issues at 150k.

Yeah you don't even have heated seats in yours, right?

Nope. I have a sunroof, that's it. I put factory 17s on it so I can actually mount good tires on it since there wasn't crap in 16 that I would actually want for 130+

I can’t believe such a Lexus LS exists with no heated seats. (Never knew that)

Should be standard for any luxury. I think 1st to 4th gen LS had cloth seats too. Not sure I find that a terrible thing

Me either. They don't look awful over a long period of time, unlike leather. Probably would be just as comfortable too.

I'm fine with timing belts, there is no smoother V8 than the UZ. I look at it as the nature of the beast. I had mine done in 2013 for $900 plus tax at the dealer. Pulleys, water pump, everything. That was at 112k and I'm at 150 now. I won't change again until well after 200k. LS430 was designed for a screen but the standard HVAC doesn't have cheap plastic, it's solid. I think what makes it slightly awkward are the large, large rectangular buttons. About the engine, If I have to pay a grand every 100k to drive the car with the smoothest V8 ever made, fine. And yes, Toyota designed TB etc to last 180k and split it in half for fail safe.

I had a thread where I showed the old belt, it didn't look brand new but new. Please see below, but everyone if they desire to comment do it on this thread here we are on please:
