If you've changed your mind then say so it's all good. Less than 2 years ago you said Cybertruck was a dud. Smart people change their mind fools never do.
you seem to read everything i post so you already know what i've written. whether it will be a 'dud' or not as i wrote way back is unknown, but even that is subjective. i really have no idea how well the cybertruck will do or whether/when they can produce it in significant numbers. but when it was originally hyped musk said it would be available for less than $40k. now it appears it will be $75k. that's a huge difference. musk also said it would be out in '21. then in '22. now shipping some before end of '23. maybe all 1.6m deposit holders will buy it and tesla can make them as quickly as musk claims (that would take years to fulfill) and they will make more billions, but that seems pretty unlikely based on track record. as i've already said multiple times however, even if only say half of those depositors end up buying it must be considered a big success. but we're speculating about years and years ahead, so it's pretty pointless.
what i do know and this isn't going to change, is my opinion that the cybertruck is a ridiculous monstrosity. but no doubt it will sell, some at least, because true believers. it's going to be funny watching people drive these through starbucks to get coffee.

I read every post you write as well...on the EV forum . I'm also a Tesla fan, I'm not a boy, and fan man sounds horrible, so I'll drop that pronoun. Guilty as charged If I ever get accused of being a "fanboy". As far as the pricing is concerned, everyone who is remotely connected to the Tesla world knew it wasn't going to end up $40K. So there was really no surprise there. And Tesla owners and fans all understand and accept Mr. Musks timelines. So there is no surprise there. Not meeting timelines and pricing goals is usually over sensationalized by those looking for clicks and headlines.
As far as the Cybertruck, as I've said many times, I'm not a fan of it's looks. But looking at Tesla's track record, it tends to be very successful at what it releases. Even the "haters" are forced to admit success. So it wouldn't be a leap for me to predict that it's going to do very well. In fact, I think it's going to sell beyond expectations. And I think a lot of traditional truck owners are going to love it after they are done criticizing it.
Last part: I don't think you are a Tesla hater. What you posted in the past is past. You're definitely critical, to me that's not a bad thing. As much as I'm a Tesla fan, criticism is welcome because that's how you improve a product. Even if you were a hater, doesn't bother me, I have lots of friends and family that you could classify as haters and I love them all the same.

What does this mean? Is it a compliment?
it's going to be funny watching people drive these through starbucks to get coffee.
Why will this be funny as apposed to seeing a Hummer or Sequoia or Suburban or any other land barge at a drive-through.
no it means some people will buy it no matter what it looks like, drives like, costs, etc. because 'elon'.
That's true of many brands. F-150 crowd is way more militant than any Tesla owner talk to a few of them. I don't know why it bothers you so much that people love their Tesla's, you act like the cars are complete junk and people are buying them no matter what.
Anyway, props to the artist that did this very well done.

hummers are ridiculous monstrosities imo too. sequoias and suburbans at least have reasonable intended use cases.
I think you are going to be super surprised at it's utility when it becomes publicly available. Also, it's going to be more powerful, yet super efficient as compared to Sequoias and Suburbans. The first part is just a guess seeing how well thought out Tesla vehicles are. Just seeing that monster make that amazing U-turn was enough proof for me that they thought about it being able to maneuver in tight spots

doesn't 'bother' me at all. and no, i don't think teslas are 'complete junk'.
I searched Adrian Clarke, the person cited within the article and pointed out as being an "automotive designer." Found a YouTube interview with him where he mentions his areas of design were door handles, mirrors, and he was really proud of the rear tail lights he designed on the Land Rover Defender. Always good to know the source behind such an outlandish yet seemingly confident statement. At most he was (past tense) more of a component/accessory designer than an automotive designer. He has never been responsible for overseeing design or manufacture of a single vehicle.
Elon Musk knows the physics, math and science to design and engineer reusable rockets (a first).. and oh by the way he lands them on floating nets and pods in the ocean. While it's no guarantee what'll come of the final Cybertruck product, I'd certainly put my money on him over Adrian Clarke's design experience of door handles, mirrors, and his large accomplishments of brake light design.

It's the necessary presision in the microns that told me instantly he's talking out his keister. Imo
No car on earth worries about panel gaps or fitment in the microns unless it's a critical internal engine part.
I repair sensors that measure in the microns so while I don't have brake light experience, I do know some stuff. Haha
