Not these days it isn't. Trust me. That used to be true, not anymore.

Think Texas or Tennessee will ban or say they'll ban ICE sales completely in 12 years like CA?

It still is. It's the biggest auto market in North America, and more people here are buying EV's than ICE, Tesla being 65 percent of EV purchases. I'm afraid it is, I'm seeing for myself the saturation of EV's on the road

I just went over this. Where are the most populated areas are CA? Coasts. Where money is coming out of everyone's ears and the weather is absolutely perfect for EVs.

SoCal Tesla sales mean nothing to me big picture wise with EV sales.

I'm just saying, EVs have a place...like SoCal. Minneapolis during the winter with no garage? Not so much.

Can you give me some numbers to indicate why?

ICE car ban is stupid and pointless (also expensive) posturing it won't change the types of vehicles people want.

But they won't have to, because there won't be any ICE vehicles to sell. California as a state may "ban" sales of ICE vehicles but I don't see any other states doing so.

The reality is though the market is clearly moving towards EVs, as I've said before, if you want certain types of vehicles you will have to buy an EV or you wont have anything available and that time is going to start coming soon. For instance, MB has said this is the last gen S Class with ICE engines...so if you want a W224 S Class its going to be an EV, and thats true of a lot of cars from the top down

Of course with trucks you will see them be the last to give up ICE powertrains and EV has a long way to go before it can fill those shoes for that application, but that time will come as well.

I mean we can argue about this till our face turns blue (not being political ). Even the "Red" parts of California are full of Tesla's and other EV's. My brother lives in Riverside County...right next to Horse Town USA (Norco) which is very, very red, and every other house has a Tesla. I don't know what to tell you. The numbers don't lie. BTW, Texas is the second state with large EV numbers, so it's not just California: https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10962

I'm not a betting man, but, if I were, I'd wager that Massachusetts, New York, maybe a couple of other states in the Northeast, and D.C. would be likely to follow suit.

They are similar to CA in their culture and governing-philosophy.

Not even close…CA has far more control over what cars people can buy than anywhere else in the US, and they are the only state that has daughters to have such control.

I was referring to the general governing philosophy of the states in the NE, but, because of CL's no-political rules, can't really discuss it in detail. Some soft those states have already adopted the CA emissions standards.

The entire country has adopted CA emissions standards...thats another example of how CA helps to shape the country. Its the country's largest car market, so it doesn't make sense for carmakers to make what they can't sell in CA...hence why they just started making all cars CA emissions compliant, and hence why if they were to ban ICEs, other states wouldn't have to ban ICEs it would have a profound impact on what manufacturers sell all over the US.

East coast and west coast culture couldn't be more different. Even Northern California and Southern California have completely different cultures. Sorry that's just not correct

I live in a red area and there are Teslas everywhere. Everywhere.

I was just saying, the Tesla model Y isn't the second most popular car just because they sell a lot in California. That's just not accurate.

Do you honestly not think the car companies have contingency plans? There is no way we will have apartment and street parking charging available, that solved in only 12 years.

These are all high end cars, MB S-Classes overwhelmingly go in garages with chargers. I'm talking just mainstream automobiles. Your Mazdas and Toyotas driven by middle class consumers..
