thanks all. i don't see the 'like' option to select for all the kind words folks have said but thanks! i love this thing and have put 300 miles on it so far. it's still super early so i haven't been getting on it much just varied driving conditions. i'll report back again as i start to open it up. it is super plush and just incredible. my base trim 08 didnt even tell me distance to empty so i'm not used to all the features in a truck but it's great. not planning a lot of mods because i'm considering to switch to the hybrid in a couple of years after they work out any issues. so far:
ceramic tint 35% front
catalytic theft deterrent (purely for piece of mind not for protection - thieves gonna get the cats if they really want them)
roav dashcam
i'm looking at tires next - prob faulken a/t's in a 275 or 285 60/20
I really like the marketing thing they did with the tail gate and the dark lettering, Not sure if one has to pay extra for the lettering, but if they do...pretty brilliant on the part of Toyota. Make the consumer pay for the badging.
The TUNDRA in the middle all black looks fantastic.
Reading the Toyota product info. 676 mile range for the 1794, Platinum and Capstone hybrid 4x4
thanks, yeah lettering is oem and an extra $89. worth it given oem should last.
Stunning. Honest assessment of the engine? Which is better? Do you miss V8? How does this pull in comparison? How is the sound? Sorry for the 20 questions lol. Love your truck.
thanks. super early so i'll have to report back. sound is different for sure, not as deep...more rasp. keeping the 08 so wont be missing it the 08 2nd gen has always had its quirks. clunk in the transmission, slips a little when its cold, not the smoothest shifting. the 10 spd is very smooth and works well with the ttv6. my favorite features so far the the bump tailgate, pano roof, avs, power boards, ambient lighting, multimedia....heck all of it. still need to play with the air suspension, 4wd and all of the lane and steering assist with cruise control.

Glad you love it! Super slick! Best of both worlds if you have both new and old Tundra.
These seem to be delivering pretty good gas mileage, that's a HUGE step up. After a few more tanks of gas, let us know your real world MPG.
80 grand with three nicer trims to go is pretty ridiculous.
I just spec'd out a Limited Crewmax 6.5' bed with every possible option (including TRD Offroad package), and it came to $58,895 including destination. This is a flipper. Don't judge Toyota pricing based on this one bad apple.
The configurator doesn't yet have the Capstone, but a fully-optioned 1794 is $66,425. That doesn't seem bad.

Right. I’m sure that was just gouging but nevertheless, ridiculous. $66k for fully loaded 1794 is very competitive.

$66k for a 1794 is a pretty good deal. The new ones have quite a few features that mine does not. For reference, my 2021 1794 was $61k, fully loaded. On the 2021s, the Platinum trim and 1794 trim was the highest level.
That reminds me of when the new Xbox 360 came out in around 2005, I bought as many as I could and sold them on Ebay for more than triple what I paid for them and couldn't sell them fast enough. If people had just a small amount of patients and just waited maybe a month or two they could have picked them up for $299, but no, none of that. Unfortunately a Chinese based competitor picked up on this and started selling them with only a small markup. He hired hundreds of people to buy and sell them so made a killing in volume. My greed was short lived thanks to him...
Anyways, the greedy dealer model needs to go away because I'm sure even if you find it elsewhere cheaper, the markup will hit once you actually go to buy it

i agree. i feel like there are some other good deals to be had. like on the platinum and 1794 you can get the advanced package for $1,650.00. that gets you heads up display, adaptive variable suspension and ride height control air suspension. that's a great deal imo. and the toyota spray-in liner is about $580 which is a good price for oem backed under warranty.
