The idiot was arrested by the CHP. Any car can be abused by any idiot. I once saw a guy doing donuts in his BMW, he put a weight on the accelerator and did something that held his steering so it stayed turned and climbed out his window while his car was spinning in circles. Maybe we should look into BMW's and fix that flaw. I don't know guys, it's not really a story about a cars flaws but more about how a few people in this world should win the jackass of the year award

Its not that easy to "make money from clicks". You have to have a minimum of 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time on your videos. Even after that minimum requirement, it's pennies for a very long time till your channel gets much bigger in terms of subscribers and watch time.

But the person climbing over the guard rail is not likely to skydive into 3 people below and kill them all. I really like the idea of autopilot, but am not swayed to one side or the other yet.

Just look at the statistics. Since 2015, only 9 deaths where Autopilot was blamed, or 1 out of 4,530,000 miles. From crash statistics, the Tesla has less crashes overall than any other auto. Here are all the stats:
  • 1 accident every 4.53 million miles when Autopilot engaged
  • 1 accident every 2.27 million miles when Autopilot not engaged but active safety features active
  • 1 accident every 1.56 million miles without Autopilot and without active safety features
  • 1 accident every 479,000 miles — US average
If that doesn't sway you one way or another, I guess stay away from the COVID vaccine because, microchips

Autopilot is a great safety system but you can still die from it by being stupid...

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that I'm not swayed about autopilot. I want a vehicle with it. I was talking about being swayed by the need or not for human backup. I know that an autonomous vehicle is MUCH safer if left alone. The problems are that they aren't left alone.
1.) hackers
2.) other drivers who think it's funny to test the system, whether swerving or otherwise getting it to react
3.) pedestrians who will do the same as #2
4.) vehicle occupants that push the speed vs safety limitations
There are more, but those are a few I thought of quickly

EDIT: I got vaxxed 38 hours after it was opened to my age group (my state has gone by age) and I still wear a mask, because, well, science.

Definitely this is a legitimate issue, but it's not just related to Tesla's. For example, my wife's Hyundai Ioniq, I can open the doors, start the car, turn on the HVAC system remotely through the Hyundai app. Her car is connected to the internet through 4G, where it sends and receives data to Hyundai, including software updates. Could it be hacked? Possibly.

Glad you got the vaccine. LOL I was playing with you

I am almost 70 in 3 years and I see people drive like crap daily. Mostly of the younger variety lol. I think the self driving cars would be perfect for old people. just jump in and tell it where you wanna go . I am all onboard for self drivers.
And all the states are legalizing weed we got bigger problems coming.

Honestly, Tesla should consult with the guy who was able to jump in the back seat. Might help their cause....

Viral back-seat Tesla driver arrested, says he back-seat-Autopilot-ed home from jail

It was in the local news. What is wrong with this idiot? He said he feels safer in the back without a driver?

That guy is a moron. He’s really taking a chance doing this. What I don’t understand is why does he need to sit in the back seat? Is it to prove a point? Why can’t he do the same thing from the drivers seat? I imagine the back seat isn’t as comfortable as the front seat right?

Evolution apparently missed this guy. He'll very soon lose his license, they will turn to felonies and his stays in jail will turn to stays in prison. I suspect he's one of those spoiled children of a wealthy Silicone valley exec, because he couldn't possibly have a job

The front seats on the Tesla are super nice and comfy...the back, its not as good. maybe he wants to lay down.

This unapologetic a-hole should have his license revoked.
