that's why if i ever need to suddenly pull up to a red light from a relatively high speed, i'll stop a few feet early so i can gradually inch up and let the heat dissipate from the rotors a bit without keeping them in one position

the reason i felt weird is because in the link (and the pics) says "kit", and the content include "a bottle of high temp brake fluid". no one will ever say that if it's a factory option, it's just an option and done. it's only stated this way if the whole system is sold as a "kit" after delivery of the car. so i hope this is an option tesla provides to existing plaid owners as upgrade, and on top of it allow people to directly get it as factory option. getting it as factory option should also lower the price tag of this.

like i said before, having ccb is not necessarily a good thing especially when the car is cold. it does help a lot regarding having consistent performance over time.

i do have to say, over the cars i have owned, i got brake fade and warped rotors in my acura tl type s, gs400, and sc430.

Many mix up 'warped rotors' for uneven wear or dust build up. Both of those are resolved by a brake place or dealer grinding the rotors smooth again. I had that done once and it made an unbelievable difference.

i have NEVER 'warped' a set of rotors.

Well everything is finally set with my Plaid. After a couple hiccups like missing two estimated delivery dates and changing VIN numbers at the last minute to a different car (which I’m ok with since my new VIN is a MY22 car) I finally have a set date to pick my car up next Friday.

It hasn’t been the smoothest process and the customer service has been lacking so far but I’m still excited. Hopefully it doesn’t have as many issues as some have had so far and hopefully they have ironed out the kinks. The more I read the issues thread on the Tesla forum the more I am expecting some problems but we will see.

Good luck! Also keep in mind that once you resolve the initial issues, the powertrain is relatively reliable. Especially for a 1000+ hp car!

One good thing that happened last week is I got a free Tesla charger. I found out from my work that they give me a $1,000 wellness allowance that just happens to include EV charging equipment so I ordered it. Plus I think the state is Maryland gives me a $700 credit on the install of the charger.

oh man i'm jealous! the plaid is really the first tesla i've properly lusted after, that unrelenting acceleration must be one of the most addictive feelings... and it actually destroys people from a roll too which for an EV is so cool to see

I was behind one on the road yesterday. Just the little widening makes a huge impact, its WIDE. The owner had put a "SpaceX" badge above the "PLAID" badge, which looked stupid.

Saw the new Plaid today. Looked sharp! I think the yoke steering wheel really opens up the interior and I like the look of it. Interesting that Toyota also has the same concept in their new EV. Center screen is pretty cool and the screen in front of the driver completes the interior properly compared to the center screen only Tesla 3. I never really cared for the S with the oval front end, but this S looks good
