Your experience seems very similar to my neighbor's. Much like him, at least you went into this experience with your eyes open. You'll love the car for what it is I'm sure. Enjoy!

Not really.

He wouldn't stand a chance against anyone modded.

There are plenty of cars faster no doubt about that but from a stop on the street, there aren’t many at all that can hook like this thing.

Not to mention you can launch it a thousand times like they do on the Tesla Plaid Channel and still have no maintenance and be on factory warranty for 8 years. Modified ICE to that degree is such as pain...

So people doing their own mods are pulling away from the PLAID.

This has been going on forever. You can make anything fast but they tend to blow up and cost money to maintain. There are 2 production cars that are faster than the Plaid. Both of them cost more than $2M each.

Mod the EV then, I'll wait.

A 40k mustang with 20k in mods wins. Simple as that. Leaves you with 80k to pick a car far more luxurious than the Tesla with way nicer interior quality for daily uses.

The corvette is also like 15 years old btw.....

The fact stands there are PLENTY of cars faster and many of them can be found running the Columbus 270 ring every weekend from 1-3 am

They don't blow up. 1000hp in the 5.0 or 6.2 engines is easy and reliable to attain, it's 1400+ that gets a little cranky. A ford dealer here in Ohio will sell you a basic 5.0 and a whipple SC putting down 800hp and a full warranty for under 70k........

EVs are not like ICE, there is no improvement, there is no greater product down the road. They are incredibly simple, limited, and constrained.

I don't disagree with you on that, but most people race like you see above or you are up against S2 Audis and BMWs that again will best you at any speed.

If you go to any 1/4 track you would have plenty of competition as well since even the small one close to me has too many cars in the 8s

OEM manufacturers can very quickly modify their cars to beat the PLAID. You are just upset that the PLAiD has been beat..worst part is owners are just doing it themselves, it’s not even the manufacturer . Not the end of the world

ok folks, we don't need yet another debate on what's faster than a plaid in a straight line. the plaid is still a stunningly fast unmodified vehicle - pretty sure it's the fastest 4 door (or maybe any door) sedan there is.

Mine was $130k. I keep seeing people say $140k or $150k it can be had for less.
