Just awful. Too bad the experience isn’t better.

I did, however, find a really weird/annoying quirk that I wasn’t aware of. I was using Autopiot even though I think it is really lacking compared to other cars. It requires you to keep your hands on the yoke but only with a certain amount of pressure. Too much it will disengage and too little you will get a warning. So I had one hand on the yoke and I get an alert to put my hands on the wheel but trying not to put too much weight on it I guess it didn’t register so it disengaged. Fine, I figured I would re-engage but the car wouldn’t let me. It locked me out of Autopilot for the remainder of the trip and basically kept showing a message that because I misused it, it wasn’t going to let me use it the rest of the way. Thats ridiculous...

You just haven't used it enough. Once you get used to it, it's easy to use and it's really good. On highway, it's incredible. Just don't use it on city streets.

I just don’t think it’s fully baked. It disengages if I use the turn signals or want to change lanes and when it disengages there is no resume button, you have to reset it every time. The only way it is useful is if I just want to be at the mercy of the car in front of me and nothing else.

Even with all of the things I don’t think it does well, the feel of the powertrain is incredible and really does make regular ICE engines feel dated. I do love a good ICE engine on the weekends but it’s going to be hard for me to get another daily driver that is better even with its shortcomings.

That's autopilot. The other features you are referring to is FSD. Autopilot is just fancy cruise control

‘Yeah.. when I test drive a 3, the power train was pretty awesome. That was with a basic long range model. I can’t imagine what you’re super S would be like 👍

Yeah that's what is shocking to me, the newest BMW system as well as Benz and Cadillac are actually really nice on the interstate if you need a minute to collect yourself. I'm shocked that the tesla system can't at least tie it for all that it get touted

It feels like a 9 sec car lol! Crushing pressure on demand, better down low under 100 vs over but still a lot

I can't go back to buying another ICE either, other then a weekend/occasional driving car. Even my son who had to go somewhere today wouldn't take my Lexus and wanted to take my Polestar LOL! He kept making excuses about wasting gas...I told him I'm paying for the gas, don't worry about it, but he kept on with that cover story. I finally relented. So my wife and I had to take the Lexus this evening. It's a great car, fun to drive etc. but feels primitive now. I have to push myself to drive the Lexus because the Polestar just drives so much better, even with it's shortcomings

I have decided that I would have a Tesla Plaid if I were filthy rich, and I mean 8-9 car rich.

Why not, lol.

If I were that rich, I would do yacht shopping before car shopping.

I only had that happen only if i speed in autopilot mode. That is when it blocks you.

It is 90 mph in cars with radar and less in cars without radar.

It asks you to urgently take over and then disables autopilot.

I think yacht shopping is even a level above that, maybe. I know lots of rich people and plenty have boats but not yachts (100 ft plus). Not to drag this OT. Yachts are just crazy, keeping them up (paying for a crew, maintenance, fuel, etc.) is insane too.

But you don't have to tell me about going crazy with boats, my 19 footer hasn't arrived yet and the goal is a 30 foot cabin cruiser eventually. Nothing like a yacht but we could take it out for a week and live on it fine go to the middle of nowhere. That is living life right there for us.

In the scheme of things, it's not really that expensive. It's a supercar nowhere near supercar money and turns into a daily, something a supercar can never be
