Definitely check out the Audi Q7. I own the Q8 and love it, although my other choice was the LX 570. However, since Lexus did not update the LX, Audi got my money. The Q7 is fairly large and Quattro all wheel drive, you might like it. Good luck with whatever you get. Audi leases are not good, so buying is the better option. If you belong to Costco, I think they are offering deals on the Audi’s.

When you look at the unibody options, the X7/Q7 have less space behind the third row than the X1/Q3/GLC have behind the second row. The GLS has about the same as those subcompacts. The LX has HALF the cargo space as the subcompacts do, with all seats up.

Pretty much all of the 3-row CUVs have loads of space behind the second row. But nearly all of them have less space behind the third row than there is in the trunk of a BMW 3-series sedan.

We almost never need the 3rd row, so the cargo capacity of our Q7 is plenty adequate for our needs, and like SW17LS said, it drives very well. If we regularly needed both the 3rd row and significant luggage space, we'd probably have a Yukon Denali.
It depends on what your definition of usable space is. A Durango which he has now and is satisfied with has 17.2 cu/ft behind the third row. A GLS has 17.4 cu/ft, so about the same. Something like a Q7 or X7 or something like that will be smaller than the GLS in varying degrees. Aviator is 18.3 so more space than he has now.

Thanks for the suggestion on the Q7, I will check it out but I still want to lease even though Audi’s don’t lease well since I really don’t want to own even though I may not have a choice on buying out my current lease for the short term.

I just wish I had a little more time although that is completely my fault since I thought I could extend my current lease. I need to test drive a bunch of these but finding time these days is tough for me but I really like the hunt especially since I opened my mind up to more than Lexus a few years ago.

Yeah leases have kept me out of an Audi every time.

Chrysler is a PITA to deal with when it comes to leases, Ive leased 4 Chryslers. Horrible financing companies, Ally and Chrysler Capital both.

They're slowly getting better, but still are not competitive with BMW and Mercedes. Costco has $2,000 cash back on the Q7 this month, and Audi is offering 0% for 60 months, which would make for about $1,200/mo on a nicely-equipped Prestige model with nothing down. Which interestingly enough, is about what it would have cost me to lease my Q7 Prestige, but not with $0 down.

That's still pretty crazy expensive. Our prior $73K MSRP X5 was about $650 a month here in Virginia with minimal down, just the drive off fees and using MSDs to bring down the MF. I know Q7's reach above that in MSRP, but can't imagine justifying double the monthly.

Yep, they use both. When I first got my 2011 Jeep all they had was Ally.

Right, but I purchased a bit over two years ago, and this is the main reason I didn't even consider leasing at the time.

You're now starting to see things like Q5 in the low $400s with nothing down, which is not terrible, and the reason I said they're getting better. I haven't seen an equivalent deal yet on the Q7, which is why I posted the 0% financing above as the best option for today.

A vehicle I did not see mentioned was the new totally redesigned Acura MDX that has been getting outstanding reviews. I have had several and they have all been very solid, and much less than X5, Q7, etc. although since only out a couple of months, they are probably not dealing very much. I leased my 2020 Advance a year ago with a sticker of 59,275 for an adjusted cap cost of 46,003 after dealer lease and loyalty rebates. I believe the 2022 Advance has a sticker of about 61k. Also a new, higher trim level, the Type S, will be out in the summer.
Here is a link of Alex and his review, and he mentions other vehicles as well:

Thanks. Someone mentioned earlier but I’m not loving the recent Acura styling, mainly the interior. However, I may add this to the list once the Type S comes out.

Well that would be disappointing if true.

I may have more time if needed as I will probably buy out my lease to buy me more time but the dealer I bought my car from just told me they have a Hellcat Durango arriving that is spec’d the way I would want it but it’s black which could be my only holdup.

I really need to go test drive some SUVs soon.
