I really need to go test drive some SUVs soon.
Mmmmmm Hellcat Durango...... 0 to 60 in 3.5 and space for the family and gear??? If the dealer isn't gouging on price, could be worth it!

Saw some spy pics of the LC300 but not the LX, yet.

The worse thing you can do is rush into a decision. It sucks to live with a car for 3yrs if it isnt really what you wanted.

On the flip side, however, one should not lose sleep at night over one's purchase/lease, either. No matter what you get, you are never going to find a vehicle that will satisfy you 100% or be perfect, so why let it ruin one's existence?

Kinda my point no? Just be chill and see what your options are then narrow down your choices.

I agree and appreciate everyone’s input. I have some test driving to do.

Well the wife and I test drove the GLS and the X7 M50i. I liked them both but the wife loved the X7 compared to the GLS. It just seems for the same price the X7 has more to offer. The only thing the X7 is lacking as mentioned before is the space behind the third row. The GLS is very similar to the Durango behind the third row. Still waiting on the Hellcat to arrive at the dealer so hopefully it comes in soon so we can look at it.

Unfortunately the Escalade is out, she doesn’t like the looks at all or the size. Still need to look at a couple others but she loved the X7 so much it could be tough to sway her.

I also really loved the X7! IMO worth the space trade off.

Did you test fit a hockey bag behind the X7 3rd row?

I'm still hoping to see someone here get the Hellcat Durango =)

I didn’t test fit anything behind the 3rd row but it’s noticeably smaller even if it’s only a matter of inches.

As for the Hellcat Durango, I wouldn’t mind getting one either and my dealer has one coming nearly the exact options I would pick but it’s in black and I would want white. The only good news about that is my wife really doesn’t like the new front end of the ‘21 Durango’s (which I also agree) and getting it in black would his that. The sales guy talked to his manager and they would sell it to me for $5k over MSRP to which I said ain’t happening so my sales guy is working on it. Out of principle I’m not paying over MSRP especially for a Dodge. Hell I’m having a hard time paying MSRP for any car but I know this is a limited car.

It's really pretty amazing how space INEFFICIENT 3 row suv's are. For comparison:

X7:
203″ L x 79″ W x 71″ H
Chrysler Pacifica minivan:
204″ L x 80″ W x 70″ H

X7:
Front Leg Room (inches) 39.8
Second Row Leg Room (inches) 37.6
Third Row Leg Room (inches) 33.3
Cargo Space/Area Behind Front Row (cubic feet) 90.4
Cargo Space/Area Behind Second Row (cubic feet) 48.6
Cargo Space/Area Behind Third Row (cubic feet) 12.8

Pacifica:
Front Leg Room (inches) 41.1
Second Row Leg Room (inches) 39
Third Row Leg Room (inches) 36.5
Cargo Space/Area Behind Front Row (cubic feet) 140.5
Cargo Space/Area Behind Second Row (cubic feet) 87.5
Cargo Space/Area Behind Third Row (cubic feet) 32.3

Bottom line: they have similar outside dimensions but the minivan is massively roomier inside in legroom AND cargo space.

No doubt...but you have to drive a minivan lol. I would trade the size for a more enjoyable SUV in a heartbeat.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, ever. Really.

RWD platforms like the X7 are also inherently at a disadvantage to anything FWD based from a similar footprint. Paired with higher floor to give semblance of ground clearance, and the X7/GLS just don't do well space wise compared to a Telluride/Palisade, let alone a minivan.

Heeeeey how about that new Sienna eh? Swagger Wagon is back and efficient! Starting to see a lot of them on the road here in NY. Too bad its only a 4cyl hybrid. If the 6cyl was offered as an option, it would have been a no brainer.

Minivans drive better than most SUVs due to lower center of gravity. I almost always feel more bodyroll when i borrow a Highlander or Pilot vs. my Odyssey

The only advantage of the SUVs is that they come with better engine options. I say a Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat edition would have been a great product
