2021 Cadillac Escalade
Yes, it would have helped if we knew that the original article was not in U.S. dollars. Bit pointed that out.
Lots of comments here about the new Escalade's interior. Yes, it looks good in images, but don't forget that GM, like past-generation Lincolns, has a way of using cheap materials inside to mimic more expensive ones. We know that the new Navigator/Aviator/Corsair are solidly built inside (the bean-counters did not skimp on them)....almost all of us who have looked at it or sampled them agree. Whether the new Escalade is or not remains to be seen....I won't comment on it any further until I sit inside of it.

For exterior styling, I have no strong opinions between the Escalade and the Navigator. Perhaps a slight preference toward the Escalade. I do find this new Escalade to be massively better looking than the outgoing model, which I never liked.
As for the interior, I like the looks/styling of the Escalade better than the Navigator, but I really hate touchscreens so for day to day use, I'd probably prefer the Navigator.

I'm confident this new one will hold its own.
I've never looked up close, though.
While far better than in early-generation Escalades, it clearly wasn't in the same league with the latest Navigator. Like I said earlier, though, I'll refrain from more comments on the current Escalade's interior until I actually see it.
I seem to remember it won the the comparo among the LX, MB and Lincoln at the time.

Looks more like an etch-a-sketch

and yeah, jutting out not my thing either.
. That screen is mounted to last.On the other hand, GM, though famous in the past for sub-standard interior materials, takes the time and effort to integrate the screens into the dash, and avoid the Etch-a-Sketch look altogether.
I agree it looks like an old Etch-a-Sketch screen (I had one when I was a kid), but, trust me, it certainly does not feel like one. The housing, materials, and mounting for that screen, though tacky-looking, were clearly not dictated by the bean counters (and it's about time)

Personally speaking, the Navigator at this point looks dated...
I think the Corolla hard buttons make the tablet look excellent.

"The Escalade Platinum's interior is the group consensus for best in test. Frankly, I'm shocked at the quality. As are the others. Seabaugh sums up what we liked so much: "The Escalade has gorgeous, supple leather and great wood trim." Says Burgess: "This is the Cadillac of Cadillac interiors. The brown leather with contrast stitching makes the interior pop with luxury." I'll go so far as to say it is the highest-quality interior from a materials perspective I've ever seen in an American car."

Yep, MT comparo. FWIW the "old" LX took 3rd.
