I'm not going to even mention maintenance (or lack of) between the two platforms.
Huh? That is really janky, but doesn't surprise me. I thought you guys get all the perks for "going green?"

When we lived there in LA all EVs could use the HOV lanes with no passengers, for example.

I visited a friend in LA this summer and he has an EV and of course shortly after he bought it the free HOV lane was no longer free so that benefit was gone.

Figures lol that's California for ya. We've been gone since 2015 so we wouldn't know, anymore.

That pizzes me off they did that. But it doesn't surprise me one bit.

LOL the sad thing is he bought an EV just so he could get in and out of the city for work using the HOV lane, otherwise he would’ve bought something else. Since he leased he is stuck with the car until the lease is up so that really angered him.

Tell him to still use it and claim ignorance. That is really irritating. So many people are buying EVs that CA is mad they're not getting gas tax dollars from them. I guarantee that had a part in it.

Los Angeles....where literally right in the middle of downtown on the 110 there are only 3 lanes for traffic.

Knoxville has a wider interstate. That was one of the things I wasn't expecting. I figured every freeway would be like Atlanta where they're about 18 lanes across.

There's just no room to do anything there to widen it, and that's why the traffic will never not be horrendous there.

Like my comments from way back this video lays out what I mentioned in an easy to understand way. Electric is not viable for any commercial trucking company or fleet or even semi-serious end user because on top of the above videos facts charge time doesn't allow continuous operation plus to increase range you need more battery weight that kills load ratings.

^^^ I will go out on a limb and say that most that buy the Cyber Track don't plan to use it for consistent towing.

the problem with '18 lane' highways though is ONE accident often brings the ENTIRE thing to a standstill. i used to live in Atlanta by the way. No thanks.

Oh but Elon's got a plan for that too with hyperloop

The hyperloop LA thing is one of the reasons I think Musk is a fool.

And trust me, at least Atlanta is designed for lots of traffic flow. (Though traffic is still bad there.)

In Los Angeles the freeways are comically narrow. Most are only 3-4 lanes per side. In the second largest city in America.

You think an accident in ATL backs things up? That's nothing compared to what happens in LA when there's a wreck. On many freeways like the 101 there isn't even enough shoulder room to get the car out of the way.

My spouse drove 17 miles to and from work when we lived there and it took 1:45 and that's with no accidents.

Buh bye we said after a couple years.

Okay, two more Tesla photos for your viewing pleasure. The second one introduces the brand-new Tesla motorcycle.

The looks are clearly polarizing. An epic fail on the "break proof" glass... The exterior is made of the same cold-rolled steel that Musk is using in SpaceX for Mars rockets. A very interesting interior design - space age seats, unique steering wheel. The host of the video below comments on how spacious the interior is when he goes for a test ride. Price starts at $39,900 and goes up from there - and a new "Tri motor" will be available roughly a year after the initial release and is touting 500 mile range.

If nothing else, it will generate a lot of buzz. Thoughts?

Doug Demuro actually made a really good video on the cybertruck...two actually. He notes that this truck is still supposedly 2 years away, which is like 5 years in Tesla time, and that it has been noted that Tesla’s battery range can drop by 50% when towing with their current vehicles.

Plenty of foolish rich people out there.

Tesla as a company has hardly even turned a profit.

And this guy thinks he's going to build a "hyperloop" that goes underneath the city of LA. If you google it it's pretty ridiculous.

The same could be said for Amazon. During the early years it never had a profit. It kept reinvesting nd expanding until it became what it is today. It takes a lot of capital to start an automotive brand and shift the tide. I think Tesla has done a remarkable job and will be profitable soon enough.
