Regarding the cabin, those purple and red "strips" around the dash and console are ambient lighting.
It goes the other way around too. He got faster 0-60 times for the new TLX and LS500 than anyone else, I believe. A lot of his acceleration tests are way off because he lives in a very elevated mountain range in California.

Dave, I think bit and the others have a point. It seems to be basically just a purplish-gray Amythist monotone interior. The multicolor effects (when present) are probably due to lighting.
Not that there's anything wrong with Amythist. I'm glad to see it......it's long been one of my favorite automotive shades. What purples we do see nowadays tend to be either extremely dark, or, like on high-performance Dodges, grossly in-your-face Violet.

This was designed until 2018 under famed Luc Donckerwolke of Lamborghini and Bentley fame, plus many BMW and Volkswagen Auto Group alums. He designed the Murcielago. Peter Schreyer also led the introduction of Genesis as a brand and reinvented Kia as a brand with his 2006 appointment.

? Still has the mismatch on door trim alignment from this different angle . And what's with the EKG on the armrest trim? Noticed that same pattern on the other picture of this interior color earlier as well on the center console trim too.Not sure maybe a black one will look better once pics come out but don't think I'm destined to ever say "I like this". And that's OK I'm not ever going to buy one of these... Absolutely understand others might love it, it's certainly unique.
The one thing I don't like about the interior is that awful steering wheel, that is also in other new Genesis models.
Someone on twitter said it looks like a Rugby football and I. Cant. Stop. Seeing. It.

This is the wheel in the "Luxury" trim. The photos of the "Sport" trim show a more normal 3 spoke steering wheel.
Not my cup of tea, but I`m glad that genesis is bringing alot of retro elements back in the interior, while remaining unique on design. Quite impressive effort. Sad tho to hear dealers are going to court over their dealer network expansion plans, which basically will put a damper on things.
Hyundai appointed Luc Donckerwolke as Chief Creative Officer

Some pretty crazy new tech in the cabin:

Apparently, it's equipped with a biometric fingerprint scanner. You don't need a key to start the car- it will recognize your fingerprint and start it for you, along with your pre-set individual driver profile.
The back seat area also has radar sensors to detect if rear occupants like infants or animals are breathing and moving.

i dont like that wheel but it is kind of Genesis thing.... whats really bad is that now they use it in pretty cheap Hyundai models as well which is stupid.
