Where is the coupe/convertible and a performance line? G70 based coupe with the updated styling would be a winner imo. They need a halo car and some buzz.
So far i don’t really get their marketing plan to grow their brand and make it something aspirational.
Genesis definitely needs something exciting or the younger generation will continue to think Genesis is for old people. Big, bulky sedans to do not resonate with younger youthful buyers who want exciting vehicles that in turn will think a brand is cool.

uh, the g70 is very cool and about to get a major refresh. it's not big or bulky.
'younger youthful buyers' are also buying cuvs/suvs in huge numbers.
but since this is a luxury brand clearly most younger buyer won't be able to afford anything in the line-up so that market is small, and the ones that can are enamored with bmw, tesla, lexus, etc., so it's going to be very difficult for genesis no matter what.

From the side profile, it's clear that Genesis decided to skip the conventional boxy CUV shape and make this a sportback body type like that recently announced Q5. This looks sharp, but the trunk space may be compromised.
Right now, their priority should be broadening their dealership network and severing it from Hyundai lots and facilities before they can even think about joining the dying coupe segment that is either underperforming or getting killed off even with more prestigious brands.
The dealership situation seems to be Genesis' biggest hurdle right now. Until they get things straightened out with the dealers things probably won't change much. From what I've read Hyundai dealers are reluctant to invest in new facilities or improvements to existing Hyundai locations because the Genesis volume doesn't warrant it, yet.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Hyundai dealerships want to fill their lots with rapidly moving high volume cars and CUVs, leaving little to no space for Genesis. As a result, the dealerships never order a high volume of Genesis products nor bother to put in the money and work to make them separate from the Hyundai products, buying experience, and service.
Regardless of whether Genesis offers compelling vehicles in the luxury segment, its main competitor wouldn't be the others in its segment, but what's on Hyundai dealership lots that the dealers feel is more worthwhile to sell. And 90% of the time, the dealers would rather sell 10 Hyundai Kona's over a single GV80.
Until Genesis gets its own lot space and facilities, ideally separate from Hyundai, it will be a low-volume brand by design like Jaguar or Alfa Romeo.

Dealerships and actual crossovers...Genesis is very late to the game. RWD stuff only has a limited target market....MB, Audi, BMW are all moving into the FWD segments.....Mercedes actually has not one but two FWD sedans for sale...who would have thought that? And BMW is now offer a 4 door sedan with FWD. Genesis has a really really long way to go. But the new GV80 I saw at the Toronto show was nice...

gotta start somewhere. lexus had just 2 vehicles to start too. but it's a different time, a different market, with different competition strengths.
Genesis already has competitive FWD offerings- they're called "Hyundai"
Taking a luxury brand donwmarket with cheap rebadged FWD offerings is no metric for success, just ask Acura and Infiniti. Brands like BMW and Mercedes have to sell these cheaper FWD offerings under their own brand because they don't have a more appropriate mainstream volume brand to offer such products like Hyundai or Kia.
