Unfortunately the EQS isn't all that competitive spec-wise even compared to current and other upcoming EV's,.
How do you know this? The full range and pricing has no even been released.

How do you know any of this? I have already noticed that the feature content of this new MB is far superior than that of the Tesla S....a Tesla S doesn't even have a sunshade, nor does it have 4 wheel steering like this new EQS
i agree! it is not CURRENTLY a replacement. my point is as they end the ICE cars, the EQS will become the new S-class, because there would absolutely be no point in having an EQS and an EV s-class.
This car in this design will never be a replacement for the S Class. There are absolutely many buyers who would buy an EV S Class and wouldn't buy this. Check out the MB World forums and the reaction to the car. Now in a future generation could they blend the models together into a car that has the proportions, beauty, stateliness of the S Class? Sure. This design however will never be that. This does not target the current flasghip sedan buyer who is not specifically interested in EVs (i.e. the buyer who is at risk of leaving to Tesla already).
no, the fact that the EQS without hyperscreen is like the s-class shows that the EQS *is* the next gen S-Class.
C Class is just like like the S Class too. Thats just Mercedes new corprorate interior layout, as the dual screens under one glass has been.
i'm not up on EV 7 series or A8 - are they out? more importantly what are the specs/ranges?
They're coming in the next generations, you can look at the Audi eTron GT as an idea of where their EV language is going to look like for sedans.
other than that the most surprising thing was you cannot open the hood, or maybe rather you aren't supposed to. Washer fluid has its own little exterior door like a mini gas cap.
