I said that in the Supra thread. Except the for Supra fanboys, the C8 is going to kill it. Same goes for several Porsche model, the NSX, and may even pick off a few used Ferrari buyers. They will be everywhere, including my garage.

IMHO, some angles don’t look as good as in the pictures ...

In general, Andrew, you're correct, but there are some notable exceptions. The 2Gen mid-engined MR2, for example, managed to do a brilliant job on styling without an excessive cab-forward look. Of course, it also had a smaller engine than the C8, that didn't take up as much space.

6.2-liter LT2 naturally aspirated V8 engine that makes 495 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with the optional exhaust.
0-60 mph run will be under 3 seconds.
Chevy is quoting a dry weight of 3,366 pounds.
GM's Mark Reuss says the C8 will start under $60,000.
Wowza, some stellar stats (though most won't be 60K, still an incredible feat)

And the droptop was also shown

Thumbs up

When any new car comes out, I've always been skeptical and reserve my judgement until seeing any new car in person. Not that I'm negative but realistic. I've own a few Vettes (C4 & C5) and i know some die-hard vette people will not be happy.

However, I'm really really impressed with the whole C8, i haven't been impressed with Corvette since the 90's and when the GS400 prototype came out and the ISF.. The C8 has put the pepp back into my mood because most cars these days are way too expensive for near super-car performance. The C8 finally even the odds with price point while giving us what we want, styling, performance and value.. Like i said, its been a long time since i really been impressed with any "New production" car.. WELL DONE Chevy..

I been looking for a sports coupe like what to buy like GTR or Audi R8 or LC500.. Today i have my answer.. Corvette C8...

I am surprised that no one has mentioned this yet... Where is the gearshift in the C8 Corvette?

Did GM license the terrible, non-intuitive push-pull buttons from Honda for its gear selector?

thankfully, that whole row of buttons is for the climate control

here's a cool function: 2" lift that you can memorize through GPS, up to 1000 locations.

I love it. I'm more interested in this than the supra
They can forget about the $100k Supra markup now

with the awesome looks + performance, I could care less about the GD buttons.

....oh and Jill, built in the USA!!! Still Bowling Green, KY (not sure about build location of some the components however).

Maybe after their $20k markup. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, so don't listen to them. I expect a 1LT Z51 to start around $70k.

Theres just no way it can be on par with the last gen price wise when so many things are completely new for GM
I know it is a base price bare bones car but for the performance you get (under 3 seconds 0-60) with a DCT, even a bare bones one would be better than the Supra if we are talking pure performance. There is no way this thing won't eat a Supra for lunch on a track. Maybe the Supra could still be a better drivers car but its still too early to tell right now. I am a die hard Viper and Supra guy and never liked the Corvette but this is impressive and good looking.

The only thing I don't like is the spoiler, if there is a way to delete that it is a winner in my opinion.
