I love it! I'm still wrapping my head around a mid engined Corvette for 60k, that's so awesome. Can you imagine that monster small-block V8 roaring from behind you?
I'd say it's a successful design overall, but the body has some odd proportions. The cabin appears too far forward, and there isn't enough greenhouse. The rear looks more like a Camaro than a Corvette. Not a supercar design back there. The front and front sides are very Ferrari (a good thing).
Pretty cool overall, and at a price all the others should be starting at.
That luge of buttons is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, WTF were they thinking? Can't even try to enjoy the rest of the car I can't believe that button strip got past the giggle test.
For $60k I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t take this over the new Supra and I have never been a Corvette fan at all and would never consider one until now. Great job Chevy.

Yup same for me. Dealers will be pretty much giving away Base C7 Stingray's now and I'm sure a lot of people will trade up to the C8. Only the Z06 and ZR1's will be worth anything for the C6 and C7 imo.
I have never even thought of buying a Corvette. But this is amazing, the back end is ok, a lot going on there. But mid engine, 60k base, possible sub 3 second to 60. Wow, I never been this excited since 08 when the r35 was introduced. Major probs to GM

It is what it is I guess. Toyota Supra fans will not care about this car, in the same way Chevrolet Corvette fans will not pay much attention to the Supra. I personally like it, I like the sexy design and the interior is interesting. Performance and the price seem out of this world...on the flip side, I think there might be some warranted criticism worth exploring, I read some comments last night say that this car is like a cheap Chinese-Ferrari knock-off, and Bob Lutz was a bit critical of the new Corvette leading up to the launch which was a bit of a surprise.
I think a car like this is a nail in the coffin of the NSX. This is what the NSX shouldve been. For a dramtically cheaper price, it has a good engine, good look, and better interior (still kinda iffy on the interior of the new vette).

I wouldnt get caught up on 60k. Starting prices are pretty irrelevant to me as I never want a bare bones one. Dont be surprised if its stripped to hell and going to be 80-85k for any decent spec. That dual clutch alone is a 3-4k option on most cars and when the C8 is standard DCT, that had to come from somewhere. Theres just no way it can be on par with the last gen price wise when so many things are completely new for GM

Looks smashing !! But I bet you will notice some cheapness in person for that price, like all corvettes. And I think the Z51 Performance package + some other options will make it way over $60k
