How about a Caprice Classic that looks like a Lexus hybrid then?
The upcoming Explorer is RWD based because the Aviator is.

except you won't find 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque in the NX.

So the 'Blazer' name hasn't been sold here since 2005 when it was S-10 pickup based, vs K5 full-size C/K pickup based which lasted until 1999. The TrailBlazer / name ran from 2002 - 2009. Elsewhere in the world the TrailBlazer still exists as a new generation in 2013 (pics below). 2019 sees the return of the Blazer in crossover form.

Personally I like the new Blazer. It has some attitude. My one hope which is a long shot, but I hope for a hopped up version. One that has over 400hp, something to pay homage to the old GMC Typhoon

Though it had the same space-efficiency inside as the S-10 Blazer/S-15 Jimmy, the problem with the Typhoon was that, outside of being able to drag-race Mustangs and Camaro in the quarter-mile, there wasn't much else you could actually do with it, compared to most SUVs. Its lowered stance and special wheel/tire package were generally unsuitable for off-road use, and the specs, if I remember correctly, even with its truck-frame, would not allow you to even tow with it, despite its prodigious power and torque.

Nit-pick if you want, nor am I asking for an SRT8/TrackHawk competitor. Just something with more oomph to back up the looks. Not asking for a total compromise of it's usability. But GM has plenty of turbo-6 powerplants that could make their way into the Blazer for a higher end version. This pays homage to the Typhoon which was a turbo-six before it caught on.

Wasn't trying to nit pick...just describing the old Typhoon as I remember it. Yes, GM does have a couple of wicked turbo V6s today (mainly for the CTS-V and some up-level Camaros). They might (?) be waiting to see how the upcoming Bronco sells, with regular powerplants, before committing themselves to a high-performance Typhoon successor.

...or a Mazda CX-5? or a Jeep WhateverItIsAllTheirModelsConfuseMe? Not bad looking, but not compelling in any way as to design.

Never thought I'd see the day Chevy copies the Lexus grille. Maybe this is the ultimate sign the spindle grille is now widely successful and an envy of the industry. Or maybe it's just a super desperate low for GM designers, that they finally saw their dated and harsh double-split grille was an unattractive mouthful and chose to copy Lexus. Pick your own end of story.

Chevy is not the only manufacturer to use the big spindle-look. Mitsubishi has been using it for years.....arguably even before Lexus did.

I can't speak for others, but IMO, I happened to like the split-bar grille....and I thought the gold Chevy bow-tie added a nice touch.

I would prefer they did not and we had more variety on the roads. I don't blame GM or Lexus or anyone for making them that's what people want.

Personally, I didn't expect it to look the way it does considering the old Blazer (my uncle had a GMC Jimmy which was pretty much the same car). I think it looks good but probably because it looks like a mashup of the Murano and NX200t.
