I thought Doug's review was interesting but he got the engine info all wrong several times. For the US the only drivetrain is AWD with the 3.3 liter twin turbo. He quotes 311 horsepower instead of the actual number which Is either 367 or 370 (I've seen both quoted). He did say that he thought the acceleration was brisk for only 311 hp. I believe the trick blind spot view on the dash is only available with the optional $4000 package.

He's mixing up his engines then. The naturally aspirated 3.8L V6 puts out 311hp. The 3.3L TTV6 puts out 365hp. The K900, G80, and G90 all share the same three engines including the 5.0 V8 as the range topper.Originally Posted by oldcajun

Car & Driver gives this 900 an excellent review. .93 roadhandling. The on the road ride quality are excellent. Soak and and cusioned refinement are some of the words.

What is is interesting is that it has 45 tires on the front and 40 on the back and it's getting excellent comments regarding ride.

Actually, they don't share the same engines. The new K900 only comes with the 3.3TT for the US market. The G90 has either the 3.3TT or the 5.0 V-8. The current G80 does indeed offer all three engines. In other markets, the sharing might be different.Originally Posted by Hoovey2411

They offer the 3.8 internationally. But all 3 can be had. Point is the 3.8 was quoted if the guy said 311hp. He was mistakenOriginally Posted by oldcajun

Other reviews I've seen don't necessarily agree wth that. Gotta remember.....C&D, like most enthusiast magazines, is strongly sport-oriented. What's "soft" in the ride quality, to them, may not be soft to many others who are not so sport-poriented.Originally Posted by LexsCTJill

I will admit, though, that what is IMO a comfortable ride can sometimes be achieved with 45s...the 2Gen Hyundai Genesis managed to do it, and (a real surprise)...the previous-generation BMW 335i did it with the Sport-Package 35s. That previous-generation hydraulic-steer 335i also combined a comfortable ride and seating with superb tactile steering/handling. I might have bought or leased an AWD version of it had its reliability reputation (especially with fuel-pumps) not been so bad.

My LS460L has 45 series tires and it rides beautifully.

ExploreSo fast forward 8 months, Kia hasn't sold a lot of them (as per Autotrader, 145 new 2019's in inventory in the whole country), I think they're a solid bargain. From looking at Alex on Autos reviews, this is quieter than a 18 LS, not as supple as an air-suspension-equipped S-class but close. Trying to find a dealer near me who actually has one to try out...
The two negatives I see are
Kia (the brand and dealership experience)
Resale value
This is a volume seller in Korea so not too concerned on the overall quality & build.

truly a great car. Wandl, maybe you can get a good lease deal on it?
With Kia only selling a little over 30 K900's per month there's not much incentive for dealers to keep much, if any inventory. Still by all reports it's a very nice car. Let's hope they continue to offer it in the U.S.

I would say go for it. I think the K900 is pretty cool from the exclusiveness. The outgoing model had a V8. Too bad the new model does not. I think the K900 is more interesting than the G80 or Lexus GS. Originally Posted by Wandl
