I agree it's terrible, but the current Avalon and ES share nothing about the grill so I don't think this new Avalon grill is any indication for the next gen ES styling.

Having a night to digest it, the lux model grill is not as polarizing as it was yesterday. The touring model is the most offensive and Im not sure if it can ever be accepted.

Guys, please tell me this is a joke??? I really cant believe Toyota went to production with that grill in the youtube video.....

Looks like a simple continuation of the "gaping maw" spindle grills that have taken over all Lexus front ends since 2013. They are obviously very polarizing, and I believe they are an attempt to lure a younger audience to Lexus (and Toyota). I agree the new grills look hideous, like something a 9-year old would draw as the "perfect cool car." Unless the company changes direction suddenly, I would think the redesigned 2019 ES would sport an even more enormous grill...

Kissing cousins....strangely, I think the styling on Avalon and Camry should of been reversed. Camry seems more sedate... :XOriginally Posted by bitkahuna

Here's a rendering and a spy shot of the '19 ES if you haven't seen it yet.

Hopefully the production model will be at the New York auto show in April... I'll take a lot of photos...

I prefer the sport fascia on the Camry to the Lux fascia (above), but I like the lux fascia on the Avalon over the Sport.Originally Posted by ST430

Looks like a baby LS. That's a good thing, in my book. The new LS looks decent in pictures but it's absolutely stunning in real life.
