2019 Toyota Supra
The mode in which that steering rack was failing would be very hard to “explain away” with any engine tuning/upgrade/catastrophic failure. From what I understood (from the video) gears were popping out which disconnected the steering wheel from the rest of the rack, which was possibly due to incorrectly assembled rack assembly at the factory. That is very bad...
If that is remotely true, I would give it no more than 20-30 days before the first class action lawsuit is filed... And if in that time period someone gets killed because of that, that would seal the deal...
The fact that Toyota tech sent away the customers with that problem, could also increase possible punitive damages assigned by the jury to BMW/Toyota (however they decide to split the blame)....

While I agree with you that it was most likely BMW designed, Toyota should have done a better job testing all that, since they put their badge and reputation on it. I hope it is the only issue that pops up...but the sign is not good, that is for sure, as it seems to confirm the worst Toyota fan fears about Toyota-BMW partnership and Supra
Put your badge on a car you own it, any problems are your responsibility. That makes it Toyota's fault.
Toyota (or any other manufacturer) warrantees a car as a whole, even though some/all components were outsourced. So, direct blame is on toyota. But then toyota might turn around and sue/work out some kind of deal with bmw on who is responsible. In fact, they probably already have it in writing as their agreement before they even started working on the car.
also, didn't quite get it, but how on earth did one of steering racks get packed with grease and the other had none?

Sounds like final assembly inspection missed that somehow. Wonder if it will be part of dealer PDI now.
It's also no secret that auto companies sometimes have disgruntled employees that are willing to sabotage certain parts/assemblies or, by doing so, take out their frustrations on the customers that are going to be buying their product. In their minds, that is how they (sometimes quite effectively) get back at management for real or perceived wrongs. Or, alcohol or drugs could be at the root of the problem, with employees simply not concentrating on their job.
Papadakis engine build is coming along nicely, I like the details he shared even touched on basic combustion 101

It's interesting to see the route papadakis took. the market's doin well, and do it for the tube I guess, a little excessive if you ask me
full BPU+, manual swap, full standalone and exhaust would have sufficed.

After waiting for nearly 1.5months on one I ordered, I found another dealership with ones in stock willing to do MSRP and bought an Launch Edition today!
Initial impressions are very positive: handles great, tons of power, and lots and lots of looks from everyone! I feel like a kid all over again!
