2017 Mercedes E Class
Not sure if I could live with start/stop going on and off all the time. I was riding once in a Audi Q5 diesel, at the light one day the car just shut off as the driver tried to go. Was very strange. Say there looking for answers as everyone ahead of us just went through the advanced green.
Start stop in my E is pretty jarring. I recently rented a lincoln MKZ and even with a 2.0 4 cyl, the SS system was barely perceptible. However, Im fine with it in my car and found a good work around. IT does not activate when you come to a complete stop, but depends on brake pedal travel. So if I know that the light will turn green very soon, I simply do not push the brake pedal down to the floor. Holding it at mid travel doesn't to activate the SS system. This is brilliant.

Like you, though, if I had a choice, I'd turn it off, simply to prevent needless wear on the unit in dense stop and go traffic (I'm not so poor that I can't afford a little drop in gas mileage). Still love the car, though, even with that and one or two other idiosyncrasies.
