Interior looks really nice and I definitely dig the updated lines, but I still can't shake the attraction to S-class. By all means, this 2018 facelift really blows 7-series and A8 out of the water, but S-class just seems to hold a permanent crown in the executive class for me.
That front end....lost all the elegance the non f sport model has and it just plain looks bad.
Yes, I think the scoops under the headlights look ordinary like the IS F Sport, while the wheels look ordinary like NX and RX crossovers.
The steering wheel view looks ordinary too; perhaps it lacks the elegance of a wooden steering wheel, or whatever...

Sorry, but S-class for me over the LS.
LOL, you should listen how people out side this Lexus forum say.

There are fanboys of every stripe and on every side. German fanboys are just as bad if not worse than Lexus fanboys.
My take : it's not Life and Death. Why so serious? Enjoy whichever brand appeals to you and quit trying to justify your choice to complete strangers on the WWW.

If Lexus’s aim was to stir up some emotions, then it seems to be succeeding with its recent designs.
In my mind moving away from the S class/7 series arena is a good move for them since that's a hard market to make gains. Thus as a aspiration to the Panamera type look that may be a more viable pathway, since Lexus doesnt seem to be seeking class dominance anyhow, but does well in middle performance fast looking cars. And in this respect it could still outdo potential challengers such as Infinty.
In any case I encourage Lexus to move beyond an aspirational SUV brand, towards a performance brand, noting that image wise that's much more challenging than a performance brand moving/moved into SUV's, such as Porsche, and more recently Alfa.
Saw in person an LS500 pre-production version at a Lexus sponsored event. In person, it is a pretty nice vehicle and should stand up fine against the MB S class and BWM 7s.... It will appeal to a fairly narrow group and the noise about lacking a V8 may not even be an issue with their target buyers.
