Two new ads from Lexus - F marque and GS "Hypnotize"
RC F makes it's T.V. debut...saw this one at the gym tonight:
GS, "Hypnotize"
Some of the most aggressive commercials I've seen from Lexus - love it!!!

Been seeing the Hypnotize one a lot. Not really a fan since they're making fun of the standard FWD on the A6 when the GS's downmarket sibling the ES offers it, and also the GS is bound to get a base turbo 4 sometime in the near future. Just seems like the pot calling the kettle black.

Nice debut for the RC-F. Only complaint with this commercial that enthusiasts will trash is the "F" as they show it does not apply to the F-Sport IS and GS. Imagine seeing an M commercial where they show an M5, M4, but throw in an M-Sport 2 and X5. We'd call that a cheap shot.

the commercial is kind of oversexed at the beginning with the kissing, like they are trying to make the car appear to virgins or something
The GS flick is kind of funny, but seems cheesy for Lexus. To make fun of others is often a sign of insecurity and immaturity. Why not let the car naturally speak for itself, in the way Lexus has often displayed their premium work over the years? I also don't think the average GS buyer cares about RWD or FWD, but fair enough.
Perfect execution but concept a bit outdated. No difference in concept between these and those of ten years ago.
Perception of luxury as comparing ES to a Four Season hotel room ten years ago has changed a lot, so pulling in to your valet in new GS to show off pride is .... super tacky. Fundamental snob appeal in luxury like "I have real wood and leather" is going away while more emphasis is put into "contemporary edgy design and latest technology" or "contemporary intelligence" is what separates economy midsize from luxury midsize today.

I think some folks are missing the point of the beginning of the F ad.
A good looking guy instigates a steamy "caught in the rain" passionate moment with his model-esque girlfriend...and yet as hot as that is, the RC F is what catches his eye. "F provokes lust," as the voiceover says.
In other words, while he's caught up an a testosterone-injected fantasy with his gorgeous girlfriend, the RC F is what he's actually lusting over. I like it.
As for the GS ad...I think it's brilliant. Really well done, though I wish they'd shown a red GS instead of white, for a little more "pop" in the grayscale back drop.
