Hyundai Genesis R Spec 5.0
I had the opportunity to drive my friends car. It had the V8 R Spec edition. I was thoroughly impressed with the overall comfort, features, and power. The throttle had a two step like throttle. You could floor it, then push it again and it would go further. It had so many features, it was unbelievable. The audio system sounded amazing. The only real complaint I had with the car was the under steering. It felt extremely heavy. The overall gas mileage for this beast was somewhat surprising. I actually hated to give the car back.
Has anyone else had the opportunity to drive one of these?
Having 429 HP at the tap for a nice four door family car was nice. Kinda slow out of the hole, but once it got past 55mph, it started to climb pretty steady and fast.

For the price I think its superb, great space, features, generic but unoffensive looks and like you said the engine is a hoot. Isn't very sporty and steering is lacking. Overall a nice option to have but all the badges on it don't make it a sport sedan. It reminds me of an old school American muscle car to an extent. Solid car, just not for me.

I would also like to see how these stack up also. One of the other things I liked was the folding mirrors and the LEDS on the main headlights. They looked pretty sweet at night. Most people are trying to get that look on the older cars. It reminds me of a Mercedes in the front, and LS 460 in the rear, due to the exhaust tips.

This car would definitely be on my list if i was in the market for a new or newer car behind the GS -Fsport of course but i've always like the Rpsec and knowing u had over 400HP under you feet would feel pretty good...
of course it would have to sound like this... ( i know this has been posted before but this is the reason why)

LOL, yeah. i wonder if opening that cutout is bad for the engine or even diminishes performance (by reducing back pressure)?

This is obviously the best version of the Genesis Sedan
Unfortunately, I don't think my country will get the 5.0 R-SPEC version..........since it uses Gasoline Direct Injection. (and Hyundai Philippines is hesitant to bring in GDI engines)
So I guess the highest that can be brought in are either 3.8 V6 MPI engines or the 4.6 liter MPI V8 engine
No 5.0 R-spec

I must have missed that video. Man, that thing sounds so mean. I am sure there is much better in sound in person. I didnt think about the country and its regulations. Something else to think about.
