2014 Toyota Highlander thread

Maybe there's a specific condition where mBrace2 can decide to use them as alternate exhaust ports.
I agree, air vents and cup holders are the mainstay of the highlander, having spent a lot of time behind the wheel on a recent trip, I found it to be a very practical and comfy SU-Van. I'm just a bit disappointed by the redesign of the center stack since I found the current generation to be more stylish and modern in comparison.
Elegant, attractive design that will age well. Not overstyled or gimmicky, yet does have some dynamic elements in the styling. Those muscular fender flares make it look good.
The interior is a huge upgrade over the last model, and the 2nd row seats look super comfortable. Even the 3rd row looks roomy, and definitely a lot more interior space with the new rear suspension. Also should offer better handling thanks to that rear suspension. It's clear the new Highlander sits on the Avalon (stretched Camry) platform.
As always, it's all in the details with Toyota, such as:
- driver-controlled power rear liftgate, with driver-controlled memory settings for liftgate height
- soft touch almost everywhere on the interior
- higher-quality knit roof-lining
- panaromic moonroof with a power sunshade - a rarity for any 2nd row moonroof
You never change dunnojack.
Some demerits: Dash vents dominate the dashboard face. These are mechanical devices you want to hide, not accentuate. Giant, exposed front storage bin encourages the storing of bulky or expensive items in plain view of thieves. I can see the problems now with people leaving purses and phones in the slot while they shop. All interior storage should be hidden or covered. So they still aren't going to give us a chrome tailpipe tip? Cost-cutting going on here. That goes for the RX too.
Kudos for offering manumatic shifting (down low where it belongs), a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel, nice choice of rims, and a clean greenhouse design. This unit will sell and age well.

Celebrating Lexus & Toyota from Around the Globe
It is a possibility that the RX will have 3 rows. I'd rather they just move the GX to a 7-seat crossover platform (just cause I like the name GX lol)

On a side note have you considered the Nissan Pathfinder? (If it aesthetics I understand your preference for the Infiniti). My manager just got a fully loaded 2013 Pathfinder $35K OTD everything on it. We work at a Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, BMW, Mini automall so he could have gotten a RX or JX but decided on the Pathfinder which he loves. It seems to do more than the RX including those rear heated seats and programable lift gate.
